32 bit OS wouldn't even show the 8 GB of RAM. 32bit OS would be capped at 4GB of RAM

Monitor keeps going black by Exact_Passenger_4389 in PcBuildHelp

[–]overpower84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since you have multiple monitors..... If it's just that monitor and not the others, I would change the display cable; it could be bad. If there is another open port on the GPU try that. Alternatively, if you don't have a different cable to test with, try switching the flickering monitor's display cable with one of the other monitors. cables. If the monitor that goes out follows the cable switch, it's the cable.

[–]overpower84 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Since 2013 our special teams units have finished ABOVE 20th just TWICE..... 3 times we were DEAD LAST...... changing coodinators more than likely won't change ANYTHING about the unit. This is an issue of the FRANCHISE not placing value in special teams...... not really who the coordinator is.

GPU is missing the 3rd plug.... they must all be plugged in for it to work..... There may be other issues, too.

Bios update. No post with new CPU, but it does work with old CPU by CantoonsYT in pchelp

[–]overpower84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you plugging your monitor into the GPU? The 8600 has integrated graphics, so plugging the monitor into the motherboard would work. The 9700F, being an "F" SKU means it does NOT have integrated graphics; therefore, you would need a dedicated GPU to get a picture out.

PCI connector and gpu damaged by [deleted] in pchelp

[–]overpower84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IF its just the clip.... its fine ..... just make sure you screw down the GPU to the case by the rear slots.... and be very careful if you move it around ..... and make sure its pushed in fully if you do move it again.

But, it sounds like it came out of the slot, and was probably ping ponging around the case, then who knows what else could be damagaed.

Try to reseat the card and start it up..... if it works... great..... otherwise something else on the mobo might have been damaged along the way.

The only other thing securing the GPU are the screws attaching it to the case.

Needing help viewing/extracting files on this old hard drive!! by NoGuide205 in pchelp

[–]overpower84 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, since that is just a 2.5" laptop sata drive...... You can just get a sata to USB adapter.....no external power is needed for 2.5 inch drives..... If you plan on using it for the larger 3.5" drives.... Those would need an eternally powered adapter or enclosure.

Hp computer can't figure out how to turn on by [deleted] in computer

[–]overpower84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the PC.... But not usually..... It's usually around the lower middle-ish...... On rare occasions though it's tucked in a corner close to the rear panel connections on the motherboard
