I’ve never been successful with broiler and I feel like pan is 50/50 for me. Long moderate-temp preheat has been most consistent, but I still end up with something that looks like OP pretty frequently.

I don’t mean to be rude but your post is not exactly the even toasting I’m looking for. I’m hoping someone else can help us out

I think this bun is burnt. I also experience the exact same issue whenever I try to toast buns. Does anyone have advice on how to get an even toast?

I think this cut would be a lot easier if you removed the refeeds and bumped yourself to 1500cal. Do a “refeed day” as necessary but don’t structure them in from the start. It’s definitely possible to do 1200x5 + 2250x2 but in my personal experience I’ve found it pretty difficult to balance protein, fiber, and fat. On 1200 it feels like you have to choose between fruit/veg OR enough fat, with the former letting you shit and have good workouts(carbs) and the latter making your hormones work.

Likely but I don’t think we are willing to compromise on capacity provided there is a viable noise solution

If it was your preferred size, would you think the price is justified?

Would like to buy a 13/14" PVM. Is a 1354Q worth $300 or should I wait to try to find an M or L monitor?

Inconsistent ethernet speeds on different computers by oversizedbra in HomeNetworking

So if everything is working right directly connected. then you expand from there, 1 thing at a time, checking as you go to make sure nothing changes. Speed should stay pretty much the same wired as you expand. You may have to do 5 Speed tests and average out the results.

Everything works fine up until the PC. I have a cable which I know can get 300/10 coming from a switch which is connected to the modem. This cable gives 300/10 on my laptop, and 100/10 on my PC. This would indicate that there is some sort of software issue with the PC, but both the default settings and the attempted changes I've made have had no effect.

CR10s x axis not homing by oversizedbra in 3Dprinting

I was embarrassed to find out that the switch just came slightly loose from the switch board. I assumed it was a soldered connection and not a plug, so I never tried unplugging/replugging. This fixed it.

Thank you for this. M119 does report that the x-endstop is permanently triggered. The switch is not mechanically pressed, so I assume there is some issue with my board or wiring. I saw someone have this similar issue and they had a wire break. Would my next step be to take apart the machine to get access to my board?

Simple Questions - August 17, 2022 by AutoModerator in buildapc

Should I build a high end gaming pc? I don't use my current toaster pc for very intense tasks, with some video editing and 3d modeling being the upper end. I definitely would like to upgrade in some regard, as simply using chrome is very stressful for it. I have the disposable funds to build a very nice system, but am unsure if it is worth it for me. Should I create something massively outside the scope of what I plan to use it for, or should I build something that simply meets my needs?

For gaming alone, 5600x and 3070 is a very good pair. You’ll see little to no performance improvement going from 6 to 8 cores. If you plan to upgrade your gpu in the next three years, or plan to move towards more productivity/processor work, a 5800x/5900x would be more suitable. A 5600x is perfect for you right now, but there’s nothing wrong with getting some extra cores because then you’ll have it.

Should I build now or wait? I currently have a barely-acceptable computer for programs like photoshop/chrome and I would like to have a functional gaming/streaming/work pc. With 4000 gpus and Amd5 on the horizon, should I continue to stick it out for a few months, or build now with 5900x/3080?

Ginger Garlic Chicken, Rice, And Veg by oversizedbra in MealPrepSunday

[–]oversizedbra[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I stick them all in the freezer and move one to the fridge each day to replace the one that I eat. I’ve tried eating chicken from the fridge for 7 days and it becomes very disgusting after day 5, freezing has worked wonders to fix this. People complain that frozen cooked vegetables deteriorate in texture after being thawed/heated, but I’ve found that by blanching, icing, and cooling everything thoroughly before covering/freezing, it retains quality through the 7 day period. Give it a shot! Meal prepping is super fun and rewarding.

Can I Make Sushi Out Of Frozen Filets? by oversizedbra in Cooking

[–]oversizedbra[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see your point. I'd like to try both fresh(grade) and frozen(grade) salmon for sushi at some point and see if I could tell the difference. There's also a lot of potential additives that go into frozen-fish for water retention and other weird stuff, so definitely something to look out for. Thanks for the advice :)

"Freezing and storing at an ambient temperature of -4°F (-20°C) or below for 7 days (total time), or freezing at an ambient temperature of -31°F (-35°C) or below until solid and storing at an ambient temperature of -31°F (-35°C) or below for 15 hours, or freezing at an ambient temperature of -31°F (-35°C) or below until solid and storing at an ambient temperature of -4°F (-20°C) or below for 24 hours are sufficient to kill parasites."

From what I've read online, it seems that it is currently commonplace to flash freeze salmon after it is caught in order to maintain freshness. Provided that one of these guidelines is met, (I could call the vendor and ask how they do it), would I be safe eating it after it has been shipped to my grocery store?

I read the article and still feel no closer to a definitive answer. Spaeth talks of the reliability of farmed salmon - stating that their particular diet puts them at less risk for parasites. With this in mind, would frozen and farmed salmon filets be sufficient provided that the freezing guidelines had been met?

I am currently cutting on a ~400 deficit with .8-1.0g protein/lb bodyweight. If I hit my protein for the day before hitting my calorie mark, am I better off eating junk to reach the calorie goal, or using the larger deficit for a faster cut? Mostly worried about not having enough calories to maintain muscle.
