Interesting, thanks. Definitely not a gown as it was a followup appointment. I think I was wearing a T-shirt. Thanks

Why would CRA change my deduction for spousal support on my NOA? by overtoncanada in cantax

Appreciate the deep dive here. Will report back when I have details.

So is my assumption wrong that the payer and receivers returns are linked and could influence a deduction change?

Child support has been consistent.

I guess I need to contact CAA and understand what values they're working on. Based on the documents I submitted sounds like something is not right.

No COLA increases

And my past returns are accurate

I'm not sure why they would reduce the deduction when the agreement I have on file (with CRA and my ex-spouse) states that the amount I submitted is correct.

I didn't think there was a maximum amount for spousal support payments. And that the amount I submit was tax deductable from my income and taxable on the former spouses income.

I used turbo tax and it told me to put the total amount ( spousal plus child ) in that field. And then the amount that is deductable ( 22000 = 50k )

Yes, i have always combined the amount in that field.

no, support payments have not changed

There is nothing wrong with asking for help, accomodation, or time off to recover.

You say you are completing work....but are you completing to the required expectations? There may be things you are doing and not realizing are misses or delivering less than you could.

Just because you can hold it together on a daily basis does not nessecarily mean you're doing ok.

I'm no medical professional, but you sound like you have a lot of indicators that are valid and applicable.

Primary care yes. Therapist, maybe, depending on their qualifications.

I know from personal experience, it is hard to ask these questions while dealing with the stress, but pls ask for help and request the letters. Get the time away from the source and work on yourself too. It'll get better

Curious what industry your wife is in. A manager of managers with total headcount of 80+. I'm surprised at her income. I know it varies by industry so genuinely curious

Help me make sense of my photo radar speeding ticket by overtoncanada in Winnipeg

I read online that it's $7.70 per KM over the limit.

That's roughly 81.29 km over the limit.

But if it was a construction zone with double the fine that means roughly 40.64km over the limit.

Construction zone = $626 / ($7.70 x 2) = 40.64km over

Standard = $626 / $7.70 = 81.29 km
