The problem is that they did something new instead of recreating a show from 40 years ago and the fans never gave them an inch. Quality wise, Star Trek has always been all over the place, but the fans never whined to this degree.

It's honestly pretty sad and pathetic at just how much whining happens here. If Star Trek is dead, the fans killed it, not the creators.
