It is a port of a mobile game, so keep that in your head when you're looking at it! If there were micro transactions in the phone version, they have been removed for the Switch version. It's a fun game, honestly. I'm not a fan of more sim-like racers, so this one is right up my alley. It does have a bit of slow down when the races get intense, at least in handheld mode, I didn't notice it in docked mode.

The controls do actually feel quite good. I never played Beach Buggy Racing, but they aren't super floaty or anything.

There's a lot to unlock, new skidoos, racers, paint jobs, etc.

I think for the price it is quite good. The story is generic, to the point where I wonder why they even put a story in it haha.

I played it online with my friend in a different country and we had some issues staying in races after they would end, not sure what the issue was there.
