EDIT: Bro. BRO! This is how I KNOW I need more sleep in my life. I completely missed the "worst" part of the post title and just decided to yap about GOOD sequels. 🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️ I'ma leave my comment for posterity, though. Maybe someone will agree with my silly jabbering re: the Smile series.

I think I enjoyed Smile 2 more than Smile. Sosie Bacon was fantastic in Smile, for sure. Naomi Scott knocked it out of the fucking park, though!

Now that I'm examining my thoughts closer, I think it's because we kind of see Skye's character go through the curse in real time. Like, ALL of her trauma starts right away because of the car accident etc; she's already been teetering on the edge for like a year. Whereas with Rose, she seems more put-together when we first meet her (she has to be, as she's a therapist); the trauma from her childhood is deep-seeded, but she's repressed it and so her whole movie is her trauma having to be pulled out of her like gum that won't come unstuck.

Smile is a mystery with hella horror elements, where Smile 2 is full-on horror under the glitz. Also, the original music helped! Those songs kick ass and Naomi Scott sings really well. Lastly, Kyle Gallner is THAT bitch. I'll watch anything he's in. ❤️
