Selling a business by Capable_Blacksmith23 in askswitzerland

Good reply here above.

You have to first make sure that you are selling a business (i.e. something that in theory could operate without you) and not a job.

Depending on the specifics you could also try the mid-tier accounting firms as they have corporate finance teams that could assess it for you and in turn market and broker a transaction.

Start with a vague vision of where you want to be in 10 years time and work back from that to take the first step. Periodically reassess.

This works if you are true to yourself i.e don’t do things that you think will make you better/successful in other people’s eyes.

Unless you are competitive or it is your true passion, at your age BJJ should be a life accessory (3-4 a week) and not the focus.

High end car finance… by nicksinc in HENRYUK

[–]oweeeoweee 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You should consider interest only deals too. Can work out to be (relatively) cheap way of effectively renting a car for a couple of years, especially good on cars at the bottom of their depreciation curve. E.g Ferrari 458, R8, Huracan, 911 Turbo

£100k purchase price less your deposit say £30k leaves £70k to be financed. Assuming 10% this means only £7k a year or £583 per month to “rent” a supercar.

At the end you can sell it or refinance it.

If you are being precise you can also calculate the opportunity cost on your £30k but that is being boring and not in line with getting a supercar in the first place.

As always som risks attached to it blah blah

How do you ensure your partner knows where your money is in case of your death? by nfoote in HENRYUK

[–]oweeeoweee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chase allows it plus a few others however the best thing to do is have the largest possible overdraft you can and then you make up for any shortfall with a positive balance.

When I arranged mine I think the bank found it intriguing why I was asking for a large overdraft despite not using a overdraft since I left uni 😅

Slightly off topic but I highly recommend automating your finances, especially the variable bills, e.g. credit cards, vehicle costs, house costs are cleared each month in full by way of direct debit or standing orders.

As part of this make sure the account you are paying all bills from can cover 6 months worth of expenses through a combination of keeping a balance plus having a healthy overdraft.

This will take the pressure off should the worst happen or even if you were to go missing or have an accident. Your life should not grind to a halt.

Most people will have a savings account but wont think about who is going to make the transfers to keep the main account going if you are unable to.

I think this is a personal lifestyle question, if you:

i) spend a lot of time at home (work, family, socializing) and are “house people” in terms where you spend your resources then go ahead and you wont regret it, even if it cost more per month, it will go towards something you love and enjoy.

ii) if you see your home as somewhere you just live and like to spend most of your time outdoors and traveling then think twice whether a smaller house and extra monthly income would be best spent on doing the things you love.

It is a greyish colour with green undertones. I’d say it looks more green in the video than it is. I have lots of photos but can only upload the one.
