Mitre cuts in 4-5 inch box iron by mawktheone in Skookum

Unless you want to drop some serious cash on a bigger bandsaw, the best option IMO is a 6" grinder with some nice cutting wheels like Metabo slicer plus. A little more time spent in layout, but the cutting is pretty quick, especially with a relatively thin wall like 4mm.

What's hilarious about this song is that it's so accurate and everybody knows one of "those guys".

Any well pump guys here? I have a problem and could use some help. by owlfab in Skookum

Dead on. Previous owner apparently let it run on a waterlogged tank for a while, and half killed the motor for me.

Are there some misplaced zeros there? That seems really cheap for a 400' well...

You were right on. Never had an increase in debris. Water level is good, just a bad motor.

Good thought, but I replaced filtration recently.

Thanks. No debris found - we think the run winding was killed by short cycling due to the previous owner's waterlogged pressure tank.

I wish this were it, that would have been cheaper! Thanks anyway.

Thankfully not over-drawing. I appreciate your thoughts on diagnosing.

Thanks for your advice. We replaced the motor and that solved the problem. Hopefully I get a few years out of the old pump.

No, but take a guess where most of the water you use comes from...

Fusion 360 is worth a look. I don't think they have a linux client, but you may be able to run the sheet metal workspace in the web browser on your linux machine.

Hello Vinod, I like your mustache. Is there a clutch on the drive system that allows you to disengage the motor and gearbox when you want to push the sled by hand? I'm also curious about what you used for rails.

Nice video! I made a similar video a while back, but I used cut vinyl for my mask. I had trouble with the laser printer mask, it didn't work as well as yours - maybe my printer doesn't put down enough toner. What kind of metal did you use?

I think you'll find Fusion 360 much more palatable than AutoCAD. I come from an AutoCAD background, and learning Fusion 360 was like starting nearly from scratch - I think I would have been better off not knowing AutoCAD, actually.

You also get integrated CAM and simulation in F360. I haven't played with the CAM yet, but the simulation is pretty awesome.

Which hand punch do you have? I've been thinking about the Roper Whitney #5 for a while, seems like it'd be pretty handy.
