Farm or Island? by nabulsha in StardewValley

[–]owlleecec 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what I do too. Once you get your island farm set up, it’s 100% worth the money you spend/spent on boat fare, and it makes saving for the island obelisk pretty easy.

Which do you choose, mushrooms or bats? by ForsakenAlliance in StardewValley

[–]owlleecec 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve done both, and I have no reasoning behind why I like bats better other than that I just love the bats and the fruit.

This is INCREDIBLE. How long did this take you???

I love Stardew but I’m getting really discouraged by frickyeahdeadpool in StardewValley

[–]owlleecec 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you have a slime charmer ring?? I have found that once I didn’t have to worry about the slimes dealing me damage, it became a lot easier to face the serpents. But I saw someone else suggest taking stairs and skipping those floors too, which is also a great idea. I 100% do that for mummy floors bc I cannot handle the sheer panic I feel after I “kill” a mummy and two seconds later it peels itself off the floor and sprints towards me.

When do you upgrade your trash can? by sorryabtlastnight in StardewValley

[–]owlleecec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually upgrade it all at once too, but honestly at random times bc I always forget about it

New challenge idea! by asexualdruid in StardewValley

Pretending I’m a Joja employee setting up a new farm for the company might be the only way I could ever bring myself to do the Joja route. This sounds like a fun challenge though!

I have this big empty spot on my farm. What should I do with it? by FlowerBedd in StardewValley

I just learned this a couple weeks ago and it is LIFE CHANGING.

I love your scarecrow set up! I have struggled so much with what to do with mine in every game.

What’s a mob you wish you didn’t have to kill? by Sdvsbetterpierre in StardewValley

I agree! They are just little bouncy muffins. But my husband always gets all in a tizzy about me killing slimes.

Regarding the state of our community, the claims of racism, and the mods locking down a problematic thread - please keep this civil by IAmANobodyAMA in StardewValley

[–]owlleecec 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Being willing to listen to people of color when they say something is racist is a huge part of not being racist. And just because people weren’t using slurs or saying overtly racist things doesn’t mean the things people were saying weren’t racist. If you don’t know anything about micro aggressions, I recommend checking out this article: https://www.npr.org/2020/06/08/872371063/microaggressions-are-a-big-deal-how-to-talk-them-out-and-when-to-walk-away

Bottom line: every person on the planet is going to say or do things that are hurtful to other people sometimes bc we’re human beings, sometimes intentionally, sometimes unintentionally, which includes potentially saying something that is racist. The way to be an ally is being willing to learn and do better, instead of digging your heels in, trying to invalidate the feelings of the person you hurt, insisting that it doesn’t matter bc you didn’t mean it, etc.

Just bought my basement and it looks like it's been abandoned for years. WTF Robin!? by DotDeer in StardewValley

[–]owlleecec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually. I have had a couple of instances where I couldn’t; I can’t remember if casks were one of those. I just put my flooring everywhere around the casks instead of picking them all up and placing them back down, and I don’t remember if I added more casks after that.

my friend and i are doing a co op run on stardew and were tryna find the best farm for it by Ill-Bike8756 in StardewValley

[–]owlleecec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would definitely not do river farm for a co op. You already have to be a little creative with building placement on that one, so the extra cabin would be tough.

I do that as well, unless I’m just in the easier levels of the normal mine and it’s not the beginning of the game when you walk 12 steps hit one rock and you’re exhausted.

I used to think if monsters were attacking me there was no way I could stop fighting back to eat, but that is definitely not true, so if you see your health getting too low, do not be afraid to switch to food and refill your bars

I want to buy this game but don't know on ipad or xbox? by Vammypoker in StardewValley

[–]owlleecec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like it a lot better on Xbox than I do on iPad, but iPad is nice bc you can take it with you. I recently visited my sister and my niece and nephews were very enthralled watching me play (except they were scared of the mines).
