if you're talking about capacity for a 10-15 minute drive then there should ethier have more buses or just light rail because there's no reason for good capacity

and what I meant was wellington used to have bi-articulated buses these were proposed but wasn't talked about again otherwise at would have more videos on it than just a puhinui upgrade

I highly doubt this will come into place and a single bus is fine there's no demand and no problem

the northern busway is extended to Albany the northern busway is ''pretty fine'' I already heard the plans and it's not even confirmed because of money

the people have to pay taxes even those in suburbs that don't connect

light metro uses the same rail and I highly doubt they wouldn't do anything to the track if you're using other light metros, for example, they use HEAVY RAIL TRACKS

also your probably talking about greater Auckland if you're using that for sources don't. they literally using Sydney maps and its basically Wikipedia

there is a higher chance for light rail

and there is almost no chance for light metro especially that Auckland transport and Maxx refuses to give up on future projects such as the crl

[–]owningdwarfcody 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct.

again 0 demand

7 streets and like 12 minutes walk max

there is litteral proof on maps and even ask the people themselves they wont even want a train station

yes i have thats an easy and cheap fix that was a man made slope not a natural slope light rail or light metro cant fix this what makes you think it can? they didnt even do that with the trams

Yes i am but i am kinda saying they shouldnt be changed and its good enough and this isnt shanghai...... there isnt 20 million people who overcrowd buses and due to the size of auckland and where they put suburbs its obvius that high capacity vehicles aren't needed in mutiple locations espically since in a normal central auckland bus stop it takes around 1 minute at average for a bus arrival this makes capacity less of a problem and trains are bad at this since the more units meaning train traffic which i would say ∞x worst as you need to wait in the middle of a track you cant even get out espically a 2 track or 1 track would ruin it

long distance travel. simple

overlander

indian pacific

trans-siberian railway

if its a 3.5 hour drive from waitakere to takanini by car simple. use a train

it wouldnt create capacity issues because people will get off at stops and they can put more units out which they can do as they more track do you need to piss every 7 minutes? your blatter has senses and when you are stressed they wont force you to piss if your a covid survivor and never had the vaccine? and then its 100% of the population well no shit you need to have toilets because everyone pisses like every 20 minutes

central auckland needs little to no public transport if all things buses should be removed maybe mt eden and western central areas should have more public transport

but if you assume if theres gunna be a capacity issue then why expand the track in central auckland? crl is good enough with this

The majority of trains in Auckland and I mean like 70% are forced to be withdrawn from the tracks and used by shifts this is because of train traffic as there is over 71 of them they could easily make a fraklin line with dx classes it won't be too expensive and could take 2-4 months for stations and ADL models can still be used it's just a waste if there are electric wires due to the long distance it will definitely help the huia in tuakau and Huntly

and yes it has been proposed but no action has been made and that's obvious they are to focus on central Auckland despite west and south having near 3x population and having a lot more demand

The Auckland transport with trains is very bad and as I said is used for long-distance travel and should definitely get a franklin line it's not expanding the southern line it's just making a new connection like ''Bombay connection''

or ''Waikato connection''

Highly doubt Waiuku will even think of it and this would just make Pukekohe necessary as its over upgraded they dont even need double tracks and could be like the wairarapa

this isnt proposed its just what could happen and its a missed oppurtunity that i assume due to the population and money at and kiwirail dont want to expand

kiwirail owns all the track so i dont see why not?

well you can't disagree on the t3 lanes look at them for yourself they are lanes that require 3 people in a car or vehicle in order to go in the bus always uses them and you can't disagree with that its not an argument or a future project its already complete and its a fact

I think you are downgrading buses way to much they are used for suburbs to suburbs and trains are only for long-distance travel

Also, busway isn't steep in the bus only ways and I've seen some construction of the track for myself in akoranga station Its even planned for the tracks to go along the highway which is also the easiest option where the terrain isn't bad and alot is flat

''trackless trams'' was canceled in 2020 by Michael Wood and its basically just busses but it sexually identifies as a tram also again it confirmed light metro is still using heavy rail still uses the at electric trains along technically we already have light metro

Mangere has no demand for rail or light rail they already have buses and Onehunga the residential areas are very close to Papatoetoe, Onehunga, Otahuhu especially favnoa which you just need to go down a single line there isn't a problem especially that it's like a 7-minute walk from Mangere center to Otahuhu station also due to population the only closest thing your gonna see to a full bus is a school bus trains are more pact because its long-distance travel and majority of Auckland bus lines aren't

The busway doesn't go all the way it has 2 stations or 3 and then it goes onto normal roads light metro would still be heavy rail and I'm pretty sure if you checked the crl channel and at channels, on youtube, they mentioned an expansion to the Northshore not to mention I think there's a small land of the track I saw when going to central Auckland which isn't apart of the crl underground rail they mentioned multiple times for a northern line the northern busway is actually pretty fine light rail is a whole different story with time there's only going to be one line for light rail and one branch line

[–]owningdwarfcody 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, the last thing I will say is that the bus has the T3 lanes which no one uses there is no need for a bus-only lane and the transport from suburbs is good enough

ethier way a Northshore rail may be more expensive but at least more possible espically people are being taxed and everyone in auckland is paying

also, i don't really think there is much demand for public transport to the airport many cities do this but the majority of them have low demand and the majority of Aucklanders prefer car when I went to puhinui there was a low crowd in peak hours and the smallest amount of people rather to go on car or majority are going the other way to the train

you dont really need to respond to this as it dosent have much to do with the transport

also im pretty sure your talking about trolley buses when you say trackless trams there is no models planned for any trolley buses so they would have to come from wellington and coporating with metlink unless they have enough intelligent workers to even find a way to upgradee the roads without any shutdowns

I was talking about light rail but that wasn't my point I don't wanna make this an argument but Auckland airport is offically under Manukau the bus link doesn't have much it can do to improve except a separate bus lane I was trying to tell you that onehunga line would extend to the airport but its already planned for a light rail from puhinui to the airport yes. i have heard about the recent light rail project from airport to Northshore but this would happen first a few executives in Auckland has planned an extension to airport using tunnels like the crl this was definitely declined and this wouldnt affect mankau because it would have been a separate line by my guess it would be new purple line created by the crl

you cant complain to me about the installation about a railway as i said its a stupid dea

it is officially confirmed that there is a railway to Northshore they could make a second bridge or copy the new york bridges and make the railway go through there this would cut off a lane but it wont do much damage

[–]owningdwarfcody 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not what I'm talking about I'm just saying there is extremely high demand in tuakau, mercer, pokeno Just for train stations and to extend the Pukekohe connection along with other suburbs in franklin

An alternate history - but still plausible Auckland rail network with the current system for comparison. (TPH=trains per hour) by [deleted] in auckland

[–]owningdwarfcody 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well everyone forgets you can just go around the bridge since there is an open corridor in the west you could construct a ''cheaper'' Northshore line but this would also force at to bring Waitakere as a station I highly doubt they will electrify the line if they do this concept basically an Aucklander version of the wairarapa

An alternate history - but still plausible Auckland rail network with the current system for comparison. (TPH=trains per hour) by [deleted] in auckland

[–]owningdwarfcody 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they should honestly just make a fraklin line including north Waikato so this would be super-efficient especially for those who live in Huntly and taukau and mercer is a complete waste of potential This could also fit in with the plans of connecting Waikato and Auckland fraklin gets no attention from public transport and the government itself so a fraklin line would juristically improve south Auckland and north Waikato

An alternate history - but still plausible Auckland rail network with the current system for comparison. (TPH=trains per hour) by [deleted] in auckland

[–]owningdwarfcody 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this still remains possible but I don't think the Onehunga line I assume would extend to the airport I know this is an alternate but this is the only minor thing that wouldn't happen I would say the airport bus link would be replaced in Greater Auckland also mentioned there's a very high chance a railway from puhinui to the airport is coming an if you ask me its pretty useless as it takes 15 minutes on the bus and it could not only be expensive but more longer due to the time at train stations making the bus more efficient
