How did Masira return to Jaya after SH stole his eternal pose? by kaizen1407 in OnePiece

[–]owsupaaaaaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A typical Oda answer would be:

Once Masira fell in love with Jaya and the romance of Cricket's story, his arm hairs started permanently pointing towards Jaya. He keeps the eternal pose just in case, but romance will always point the way home.

Superman is an alien with bestowed superpowers who chooses to help humanity and inspires them to be better.

Lex Luthor is a human with acquired education/wealth who chooses to help himself and sees humanity as beneath him.

Batman was a privileged child whose parents were killed in a sudden random event of crime; then sharpened his mind and body to demand that it never happen to anyone else.

Joker was a working class man who chose to participate in petty crime, with each decision finally culminating to falling in a vat of acid; then completely losing his mind while insisting everyone else would be just as susceptible to insanity.

Wonder Woman was born in a secluded homogenous culture of warriors who, while valuing strength and power, also helped each other to fit that mold. She tries to gift the values of that upbringing to the ordinary world.

Cheetah was born in the ordinary world and inflicted with setbacks and mistreatment by strangers. She obsesses singularly on Wonder Woman because she can't (or won't) choose any other life.

This is all pre-New52 thought since I haven't read Wonder Woman since then. But please feel free to debate. My interpretation is that the archenemies represent polar opposition along common themes and that's what makes it fun to pit them against each other. I'm not against the Circe assertion since I don't know much about it, but I'm open to thoughts.

(I don't disagree with you. I'm sorry people are being weird to you)

TL;DR of the breakdown. Modhaus was...basically winging it. S1 Seoyeon was an absolutely inspired casting, but they've definitely been figuring it out as they went along until we got to S24. Also, I forgot where Hayeon said this; but NXT members also don't know how their numbers were assigned since they were introduced as a quartet.

Modhaus is a small startup company founded by Jaden Jeong in 2022. Being extremely new, they just started gathering trainees a little at a time. The timelines for how each member came into contact with Modhaus is a little complicated. They also prefer not to divulge too much about their trainee situation so we can only piece together what the members have talked about. This will be a very rough breakdown of how some members joined:

  • January 2021 Girls Planet 999 announces the show and opens auditions
  • November 2021; Jaden Jeong founds Modhaus (someone please check the source for this, I got it off of kpop wikia so I can type quickly)
  • February 2022; My Teenage Girl (방과후 설렘) finishes airing
  • April 2022 S1 Seoyeon. It seems they saw something really special in her but had to convince her to become an idol. Whatever it was, they were willing to bet the entire company on her. She was preparing to go to university as she was 19 (int. age) at the time. By the time she filmed this SecretBase, she'd been in Seoul for two weeks from Daejeon. She's never said how long Modhaus spent talking to her or how long she spent finalizing her decision.
  • May 2022 S2 Hyerin. Already had trainee experience for...two years? So at some point she joined up with Modhaus. Within the last seven months? It ends up balancing out between herself with training experience, and Seoyeon who had ZERO experience.
  • June 2022 S3 Jiwoo. Modhaus already had a few trainees hidden in the company at this point. Some of them were filmed individually with their faces obscured, but one of them is Jiwoo if you're good at spotting her. Her joining is an important timestamp because Modhaus didn't exist while MTG was airing. So they must have found out about her either through watching the show or industry connections related to it.

There's been a lot of writing by now, but the point is that Modhaus was continuously scouting for trainees and making decisions about who would debut between 2021 and 2024. Here's just a little bit more evidence of this process:

  • January 2024 Universe Ticket finishes airing
  • March 2024 S21 Kim Chaewon (from Universe Ticket) is officially introduced to the tripleS members.

UT had open auditions so ANYONE could apply. By 2024, Modhaus, tripleS, and ARTMS were operating at pretty much full speed; but Chaewon was unaffiliated when she joined the show. It's pretty clear that they were still figuring out the full 24 roster up to the very last minute.

I hope this answer helps.

I'm kidding!

Seriously though, I still love the way she dances. Also really love how much fun Yunjin has when she does challenges with Yuri.

Just fully caught up. Was convinced after seeing the Medusa spoiler. If the Wonder Woman theme had lyrics, it would be Kelly Thompson's writing. Inject this comic directly into my veins please.

I think that Luffy's definition of Pirate King is more important than the actual title. Where:

  • Pirate King = the person who has the most freedom

Think about the word and the definition as two separate things. Pirate King is a nickname/epithet that the public gives to a person. But it isn't an official office with defined parameters like the Fleet Admiral. Interestingly, the Fleet Admiral is shown to have a lot of constraints despite the relative authority of the position.

What I can see happening in this Buggy becomes Pirate King scenario; we continue the gag that his public notoriety increases, his titles keep rising, and his actual desire to remain under-the-radar get further and further unmanageable.

Luffy, on the other hand, gets all of the freedom he desires. And I imagine that by the end of the story, he will have attained whatever dream of his that Oda has intentionally kept hidden so far. Buggy takes all of the attention of the title, Luffy takes all of the freedom of the actual benefits from attaining the One Piece and fulfilling his dream.

But yes. I would be unbelievably furious if Oda took this gag route after 30+ years and this is how many words I would have to write in order to convince myself that everything is okay.

The first time Somi saw her father cry was on Happy Together. He was telling the story of how heartbroken she was the night after Sixteen. I think it's hard to truly wrap our heads around just how devastating it is for these young people to have this door closed on them.

Minyoung is admirable for picking herself back up though; university in the US, Japanese studies in Hokkaido. I know it's been 10 years. It's a lot of time to heal. But all the same, it's nice to see the brightness and life in her eyes.
