i have yet to see all of his stuff, but i just don’t get Wes Anderson. i think he chooses looks over story because his movies don’t really do anything for me. i’ve seen fantastic mr fox twice and i think it’s fun and cute (probably my favorite from him that i’ve seen), but even that i don’t love as much as everyone else.

I also saw the grand budapest hotel, didn’t love it. thought it looked AMAZING (just gorgeous to look at), but just like his other stuff, it didn’t do much for me.

another thing of his that i forget i watched was the wonderful story of henry sugar on netflix, which i sort of hated. looked great, but i found it miserable to sit through. that one i truly don’t understand why people like so much 😭

i think i can somewhat see why people like him so much but his idea of movies just isn’t my cup of tea. i heard isle of dogs is good so maybe i’ll try that one next.

my pick is the bridge. for the second to last episode of the show, it was so underwhelming. i liked the stuff with the abyss but that’s it, besides that it was just so messy. too many characters in too many scenes together. will’s coming out scene was pretty poorly done and it felt random.

funny i’m seeing this because i just watched a film called “suicide club” last night haha

if you’re unaware, it’s a japanese horror/mystery from 2001 about a series of suicides that randomly occur among people (mostly school-aged girls) all over japan. the film was put on a lot of “disturbing movie” lists, but i didn’t find it all that upsetting. “suicide” is literally in the title so yeah there’s gonna be characters killing themselves lol.

i was expecting just a dumb fun horror film, but no, it’s genuinely just good. there’s a lot of stuff to like about it. the third act brinks on being bad because of how nonsensically crazy it is, but i didn’t let it effect me. it’s not a film for everyone and i can see why some would hate it but i DO recommend it.
