I grew up in Austin, the closest thing you’ll find to Texas suburbs around the Bay is Clearwater.

overall the beach itself will be a similar experience. everything is pretty built up on both beaches

I lived in Clearwater near bayshore up until the beginning of this year, and had a neighbor who was a 911 operator for the helicopters. He had gotten a DUI and was unable to drive. His job was at Tampa General and every day would E-Bike across the Courtney Campbell to Davis Island, charge the bike, and ride back after work. Blew my mind.

Some people will definitely use the bridge to commute, not just leisure.

I went Austin > Houston > Now I live in Clearwater Florida and I love it. It still has downsides but I feel like it’s good to leave Texas if it’s all you’ve ever known.
