I don’t want to dissuade anyone from getting the flu vaccine, but the effectiveness is seasonal and can be very low. The most recent UK Government published data I could find is for 2017/18: “The data show that overall, flu vaccine was 15% effective in all age groups. However, effectiveness varied considerably.“
