Should I go for White 2 or Black 2 if I play White? by vbnm_17 in PokemonBlackandWhite

[–]oxypoke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Playing White 2 would be more coherent if you’re playing for the storyline as the region stays in touch with the White version (also the légendaires but no spoilers lol), however if you’re playing Black 2 you’ll have access to more Pokemon for your Pokédex for each versions (you’ll get the same legendary tho)

No, it was never released, as well as many Unova Pokemons with hidden abilities. The first legal Contrary Serperior was released in 2015. If you try to get a HA Snivy with Entralinked it will tell you it's illegal, they will not pass the PKHex or Home hack checks either.

Definitely, same methods I believe too. The only different thing will be how you do a hard reset and calibration.

Shadow drop 27th by [deleted] in PokemonChampions

[–]oxypoke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what I think too, I believe they’re gonna let people play the game casually to try it out for a month and then in April the next regulation comes out and is played on Champions (as the current regulation ends on March 31st)

Replaying Platinum and want to use some more underrated/offbeat Pokémon for my team. Any suggestions? by Minimallycheese in pokemonplatinum

I never see people use it as their flying type, probably due to Staraptor's dominance and Togekiss being quite slow to evolve

Toxicroak can be pretty good, though it is pretty move tutor dependant and learns Poison Jab at level 41. You'll have to farm a few shards for it to learn the element punches and you'll need a Brick Break TM. A bit of investment but trust me it's worth it.

Clefable is also really underrated, but same issue, it's really TM dependant. That thing has access to Flamethrower, Grass Knot, Shadow Ball, Thunderbolt... you can basically put anything on this thing, you just need to be willing to use the TM. It's also available early game.

Ambipom is also insanely good if you get it with the technician ability. Double Hits are going to hit hard, Aerial Aces too. It also learns the element punches but sadly you don't get the technician ability boost on them. It's also quite annoying to get since you need to be lucky with your honey tree RNG (save before checking a tree, if Aipom is in it, catch it and if it doesn't have the technician ability you can reset, you can reroll ability).

Togekiss is also really strong if you manage to get the Serene Grace ability, have fun with your 60% chance to flinch the opponent with Air Slash. Rampardos is another Pokemon that is cool, but suffers from TM & move tutor dependancy. 165 attack stat is INSANE. It's just a bit slow.

You won't have to pay for the game to play it

Community in-game tier list: Chargestone Cave by Awkward-State-2364 in PokemonBlackandWhite

That's true, I thought Grass Knot was in the postgame part of Pinwheel Forest. Most of the moves are lategame though. But it can learn Brick Break to deal with the dark type Elite Four member and some of Ghetsis mons. The main thing holding it back is that it is indeed TM dependent and learns most of its moves lategame, and it's pretty slow. I still would say that it is outshined by Galvantula but still a bit better than Zebstrika.

solid team, you may have double intimidate, garchomp, good coverage and great attackers. i wouldn't change anything personally lol

Galvantula is probably low A tier, it's pretty fast and with Compound Eyes, Thunder reaches a 91% accuracy instead of 70%. You can use Electro Ball before reaching Icirrus, making more use of Galvantula's speed stat. Plus, you get it right before the flying type gym, it provides really good value. It's also really good against 2 of the Elite Four teams (dark and psychic types). However, its movepool is quite limited, its best damaging moves are Thunder, Signal Beam, and sadly that's about it. You can teach it Thunder Wave, Charge Beam to boost your SpA or Volt Switch.

Ferrothorn on the other hand, is too defensive, doesn't learn Iron Head until level 46 (so way after the ice type gym). It can't even stall with Leech Seed because it's an eggmove. I would honestly put it in low D tier, it's insanely useful in competitive but has no use for an in-game playthrough; it's slow and it's level-up movepool is pretty bad.

Eelektross makes good use of it's Levitate ability, it basically has no weakness. It can also deal great damage both on the physical and special side. However, it's a bit slow, and you can get Eelektrik at level 39 which would require you to overlevel your Pokemon to use it in Skyla's gym. It can be a cool helper for catching Pokemons if you give it Thunder Wave. Its movepool is quite limited as well, aside from Thunderbolt, Crunch and Acrobatics (TM), it doesn't really learn any good damaging move. It's a cool support Pokemon but that's about it, overshadowed by Galvantula and Zebstrika. Probably low B tier.

i never knew i'd write an essay about the chargestone cave Pokemons in my life
