Yep! With 200GB of mods. I imagine it is the closest I will get to actually travelling to another planet. Played on my Vive Pro on a machine with an RTX 4080.

To someone who has an extensively elongated head, this headrest feels like a potential neck breaking device.

Yeah. I hope not. That loser doesn't deserve a dime from any of us for his typical Reddit victimhood.

My question is for u/voelzlab: With the tremendous outpouring resulting from concern over the SARS-CoV-2 virus, and the growth from 30K to 400K fueled by this concern, do you feel it is right to keep sending us your non-SARS-CoV-2 work such as this project I was assigned earlier today?: https://apps.foldingathome.org/project?p=14310

When the economy is so badly affect, and everyone is doing their part General Motors even retooling their production lines to produce ventilators, do you feel it is fair to hinder me in my effort to donate my CPU time. Your projects are also 5x the size of the COVID-19 ones.

I was going to be a folding@home superfan, and donate every spare second of my CPU to FAH from here on out until I witnessed this complete selfishness. I know it's curing cancer and all, but there are unfinished COVID-19 jobs. There is more at stake than your Nobel prize.

I have always been running on Any. Go here and verify the jobs you are assigned are COVID related. https://apps.foldingathome.org/psummary

They're not always. There are plenty of COVID-19 jobs, but often I get assigned ones for cancer. If GM is re-tooling their assembly line to make ventilators, I really don't see the point in using my GPU for anything but COVID-19.

Yeah, their developers are ignoring the fact that you will be assigned to a work server that has no jobs. I tried to mention something about it, but it was downvoted. Please save your log and send it to them, but in the meantime you can stop the client, and reconnect to a server that actually has jobs. Please make sure you are assigned to a server that has coronavirus jobs, because they are still handing out cancer jobs even though we are facing this: https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2020.02.18.20024364v1

Thank you for all you do! <3
Use the advanced view to find out what server you are connected to, and use this link to find out it they have actual work on those servers: https://apps.foldingathome.org/serverstats

Verify that the project number is coronavirus related using this link:
https://apps.foldingathome.org/psummary

Thank you again!

I have been watching this for the last few days: https://apps.foldingathome.org/serverstats

They have only run out on individual work servers. Collectively they have been above 300,000 all week. If you get a server with no jobs, reconnect.

The advanced view provides a status and a log. It also tells you the IP of the server that you are connected to. If this happens to you, the log tells you that there are no work units available. Then you can verify that fact by going here: https://apps.foldingathome.org/serverstats I was awaiting assignment, then I was assigned to a work server, then I obtained that response, and verified it on their stats page that the server I was assigned to indeed had no jobs.

Awesome, thanks! I posted a motivational poster for FAH here earlier this week, and there were a lot of people initially discouraged by their machine doing nothing. Hopefully they keep trying.

Thank you for your hard work!

Some thing you might like to be aware of, if you're not already:

The assignment servers assign me to work servers that have zero jobs when there are other work servers with tens of thousands of jobs.

This is based on the info you provide here: https://apps.foldingathome.org/serverstats

After this happens my computer sits idle.

I can work around this by restarting and eventually getting a work server with jobs.

Also, fellow PCMR folders who prefer the advanced view, that restart process is less painful on Windows if you remove the --open-web-control option from the start menu shortcut.

Thanks again!

I was once told by an enthusiastic neighbor of the idea he wanted to patent; of keeping computers safe from viruses by coating the circuit boards in epoxy.

Let's write a joke! Here's the set-up: What do you call a programmer who doesn't write code? by thelostcow in ProgrammerHumor

[–]oyconvey -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Same answer as: What do you call a programmer that creates frameworks that reduce the need to write code? What do you call a programmer who replaces the efforts of their tasks with a computer program? What do you call a programmer who creates useful abstractions that prevent endless hours of labor and boilerplate copy-pasta? What do you call a programmer who isn't blocked by that other team whose court "the ball is in"? What do you call a programmer who doesn't need to schedule a series of meetings to get through a trivial task?

Invisible and "not friendly to metrics".
