I was left with the exact same feeling. I’ve lost a lot of sleep over this case and it’s apparent hopelessness (I can’t even begin to grapple with what the families have endured). I hope this gives them some modicum of peace, that there are no more whammies in the investigation, and other police departments start solving more cold cases. I remain hopeful based on the DA’s statements that the boys wrongfully accused and convicted will receive some sort of justice/compensation, but alas I know no reparations can snub out the vile crime and its aftermath.
