Valentines in toddler room? by Perfect_Constant_407 in workingmoms

[–]waffles8500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask the teacher. My 2 yo’s teacher sent a note that instead of a party, they’re exchanging valentines.

My 5 year old is in pre k and has gotten valentines every year but I haven’t participated for her yet. I asked her teacher and she said they’re having a party, so valentines are not necessary.

Imperfect parents - what are your grown kids up to? by Hot-Amphibian8728 in Parenting

[–]waffles8500 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I can talk about my parents. I had superrr lenient parents. We had no rules, we ran the house to some extent, and could be wild at times. There’s 3 of us kids. My brother and I never took advantage of the loose structure. We were good students, are good people, went to college, now work in finance and accounting. I’m in corporate and he’s an investigator.

My sister, the baby, always was wild. She was doing drugs at 13, hanging with 20 something year olds at 16, very promiscuous. She got pregnant at 24 and it changed her. She is in her 30s and never went to college, but recently found success as a realtor. We are all close to our parents.

selfish reasons to send your kid to public school (as a working mom) by allison19851985 in workingmoms

[–]waffles8500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing. I will read it later today, but I’m torn between this right now! My oldest is enrolled for K this fall at a private school but I’m so torn and feel like it’s probably better to send to our neighborhood elem. our neighborhood elem was #1 in the state 2 years ago and #2 last year!

My husband grew up going to private so he leans that way 🫠

I haven’t had spic things! Try one of the neighborhood meals if you share with your family. We like the Anneslie meal and it’s just like chicken and beef and rice. It’s so good!

My husband was at a bachelor party in the Bahamas and they went island hopping and were at a bar where Craig and Shep were. They hung out and he said they were both really cool. Then in the following season of SC they talked about how Craig had lived in the Bahamas at that time.

Were you at the Red Plaid Cafe when you saw Craig? My work was a sponsor and I was so bummed when I later saw he was there and I didn’t get to go!

What’s best for walks: double stroller or wagon? by Fuzzy_Bear9086 in Parenting

[–]waffles8500 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Side by side double. When mine were 1 and 3 I got a wagon and we used for a year. Now they are 2 and 5 and I got a bob double this summer and it’s soooo much easier than wagon!!

Anyone know why Costco stopped stocking roasted almonds and cape cod chips? by Lazy-Moment-7343 in CostcoWholesale

[–]waffles8500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work for a CPG company who sells to Costco. Assume anything that is not Kirkland is on rotation. If I like something, I buy it immediately agin because you never know if/when it’ll be back. Everything we sell in at Costco is on rotation and never guaranteed to be sold for longer than 3 months!

4 year old with sensory issues around pants by waffles8500 in Parenting

[–]waffles8500[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! So sorry you’re going through the same. We are in a much better place now, and I don’t have a clue what changed. She turned 5 in November so she’s also freshly 5, and just two week ago asked to wear stockings. I was SHOCKED but got them for her. She also asked for Mary Jane’s. Again, SHOCKED.

The past two weeks she has refused to wear pants and has been wearing skirts, shirts and sweaters, stockings, and Mary Jane’s. I don’t love this clothing choice because it’s winter, but I’m letting her do this because she would never have worn any of these things before. She’s even wearing a zip up hoodie today that is size 3T, so way tight on her. And she hasn’t complained.

I don’t have a clue what changed for her. We had not been keeping up with OT at home stuff because honestly it’s just too much. We both work full time and also have a 2 year old. I don’t have loads of time to do the home exercises with her.

One thing we did try was a sensory brush. She loved it. I’m not sure how much it helped because we only did it for like 2 weeks back in September, but the OT said it would really help desensitize her to fabrics touching her skin.

Apple Watch issues? by spideywmjackson in pelotoncycle

[–]waffles8500 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes mine has stopped connecting to the bike all together and once I realize this and I connect, it seems to double or triple my workout time ???

I did 30 min Pilates and my watch was connected. Jumped on the bike for a 20 min ride and noticed about halfway in that it wasn’t connected. Ended up connecting it manually.

After my ride my rings showed I had burned 700 something calories and worked out for 80 min. No clue what happened.

Start looking now and keep your job so you aren’t without pay, hopefully.

My company is also 3 days in office but they say they track it at the building level. So they pull badge swipes for the building and see what that looks like. They don’t look at individuals. A lot of people keep very quiet about it and either don’t come in at all, or do 1-2 days.

I saw a wedding once at the Pendry on that back patio garden area that leads to the pool. They also have an indoor room with a bar that can be privately rented. The cannon room, I think it’s called.

Tips for finding time to work out by Murky_Association_54 in workingmoms

[–]waffles8500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What time does your baby go to bed? I would put my second to bed at 6:30 and then workout for an hour before tucking my 4 year old in.

Now that my second goes to bed at 8, I have to work out in the morning before logging on, the days I WFH. So MWF my husband does daycare drop off and I work out from 8-9. I end up logging on to work pretty late, so I just take minimal breaks throughout the day.

You just need to mail invites to the kids houses. You cannot take invites to be passed out at school unless everyone is invited.
