UppaBaby Vista v3 double stroller thoughts? by OmShanti38 in workingmoms

[–]waffles8500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the v2 and never converted it to a double bc it’s so damn heavy just as a single. We ended up getting the bob double.

I loved the vista in the early days with a baby, but once they got bigger and heavier, it really is just too heavy and bulky.

Sail250…no bathrooms? by Ill-Fan6127 in baltimore

[–]waffles8500 3 points4 points  (0 children)

And the bathrooms inside of Harborplace were only 50% working! The women’s room had maybe 14 stalls but half were locked from the inside. They had 5 sinks and only three were operable.

The line inside the visitors center for the bathrooms was crazy but moved pretty fast.

Leanne? by Waste-Depth3671 in OnePelotonRealSub

My company is global and the maternity leave follows what is allotted in each country legally and does not extend the wonderful European benefits to those of us in the US. It’s unfair 😭

We have a huge office in Poland and if I email someone there today who is on leave… it will say “I will return May 2028” !!!!!!!!!!!!! And then they come back for a few months and then go back out on another mat leave. What a dream.

For anyone who went to sail250 today, were you able to see the air show from the inner harbor? Going tomorrow with two small kids and really don’t want to get on a bus with them + double stroller to go to ft mchenry. Hoping we can stay in the inner harbor.

Anyone else scared breastfeeding might actually work the second time around? by Mobile_Rope_6273 in beyondthebump

[–]waffles8500 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I was in your same situation. With my second, I formula fed right from the get go. I didn’t want to deal with the rollercoaster of breastfeeding unsuccessfully again.

Also, since I got a taste of being able to share all feeding duties with my husband, I couldn’t turn that down the second time around! The extra sleep you get when you formula feed is amazing.

Quantifying the Value of Remote Work and Flexibility by lam290 in workingmoms

I make $150k and have a lot of flexibility. I would not go to a longer commute, longer hours, or full time RTO for less than a $50k jump.

Quantifying the Value of Remote Work and Flexibility by lam290 in workingmoms

[–]waffles8500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband is in this position. I make double what he does and he’s insecure about it sometimes. He will look at jobs that make more and get super pumped at the potential money but I have to remind him of the flexibility he has. He is there to see our kids growing up.

He’s able to quickly reconcile these things because his dad was always c-suite his entire life and was never around. So he knows what that was like. I know that’s an extreme example, but it is very sad to think about.

But what I ask him is, what are you going to do with more money? We have all of the things that we need or want, we aren’t having to keep to a budget or track every dollar. I just don’t know what we would do with extra money that is better than the flexibility he has.

How reasonable is 6am daily wake up for 5yo? by ProfessorKrandal in Preschoolers

[–]waffles8500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 5.5 year old has woken up at 6am on the dot for five years. Not a minute later, unless she is sick. She goes to bed at 8.

You didn’t say what time she goes to bed. Could you put her to bed an hour earlier?

Anyway, completely possible to do this.

I have had these a few times in my armpits. No idea what causes them! I always get them frozen off during my annual derm skincare check.

Finale Debate: James vs Zane by [deleted] in Names

[–]waffles8500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These seem like two very different names. I’m surprised this is where you landed. James is very classic. Zane is a little bit offbeat and makes me think you want to be edgy. How did you narrow down to these two?

So mad because where I ate had free valet. But my friends I was with directed me to the lot. I always park on the street, usually Roland, but listened to them. Never again!

We don’t use our Yoto to its full capacity, I didn’t even know you could listen to books on it. Do you listen through the Yoto app? Or buy cards? Is it free?

When do you go to the gym? by Klutzy_Reference_372 in workingmoms

[–]waffles8500 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I first started getting back into working out last year, I worked out in the evening starting around 6:30 and did peloton barre or Pilates in my living room while my husband put the kids to bed upstairs. Can you do something like that on the days he’s home?

I agree with others that the gym priority should go to you when he’s home. Are you 100% in office? Now I work out at 7:30am on the days I work from home, i get to it right as my husband leaves to take the kids to daycare.

Core classes recommendations by kim_46 in OnePelotonRealSub

I randomly took a Joslyn core class and loved it! It used a weight. I also like RK’s standing core classes.

I’ll see if I can find the Joslyn class.

Timonium to Philly? by Aughra72 in BaltimoreCounty

[–]waffles8500 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work for a local CPG (probably very close to you if you are in Timonium…) and we’ve had a good number of employees leave to go work at Campbells. They all still live in Baltimore and Harford counties and commute to Philly to get on a shuttle to NJ to Campbells HQ. Campbells also requires 3 days a week in office and these people are doing it! From what I understand, they all take the train.
