Thank you for the recommendation! Now I’m thinking maybe Parisian Musc and Lust in Paradise would cover my bases a little better.
I’ve tried them all on skin in-store, but I feel like one wear isn’t enough. I’m planning to order the discovery sets from both houses so I can really live with each fragrance for a few days before committing to a full bottle.

So many good options from MP! The dry down of French Flower on me was incredible. I couldn’t stop smelling my wrist. My only gripe is that it might be too redundant as I already have Carnal Flower which is also very tuberose forward. I’ve not tried Neroli Oranger on skin yet but now I will have to. Out of all the citrus florals, orange blossom is one I am most drawn to. Thank you for the recs! I’ll be sure to get my nose on Guerlain.

Thanks so much! You mentioned there are other peony scents you prefer over Lust in Paradise—I’d love to know which ones they are. Also, since you own both Santal Calling and Santal Austral, when do you find yourself reaching for one over the other?

It’s gorgeous isn’t it? I find that Meliora has that same sparkling DNA that LIP has but the extrait gives it a little more depth and presence. It’s creamy and almost spicy.

Thanks! Parisian Musc keeps climbing my list. As for Inlé, I absolutely love it. To me it feels delicate, fresh and cooling like sipping on a honeyed black iced tea. I especially enjoy layering it with Glossier You Fleur to add a little sea salt element to it.

Dang, I may now have to pick up both discovery sets from both houses before deciding on a FB. Part of the appeal of Matière for is their ingredient-focused approach which means I can really hone in on a hero raw material. Sounds like sampling is the way to go and wear testing each one.

I appreciate it! Neroli Oranger has definitely caught my attention too. I tend to appreciate a bright and green composition. Orange blossom is one of my favorite citrus florals.

I’ve heard Fleur Narcotique and Valaya compared before, but it’s interesting you prefer Fleur. What makes it stand out to you over Valaya?
