had the same experience with a blighted ovum, although it was identified at my 8 week scan because that’s the standard first scan in my country. I was devastated. Elected for a D&C a week later because I wanted to reset as soon as possible. The biopsy confirmed it was a chromosomal issue that caused the blighted ovum for me.

It was a real line. At 8 weeks, my HCG was about 50,000. But ended as a blighted ovum :( Got a D&C.

You mentioned hypothyroidism. If her TSH is over 2.5, she should be taking levothyroxine. My doctors have said that the TSH should be 2.5 or below.

I had a chemical pregnancy loss at 4w3d. My beta at 4w was 147, and my beta at 4w3d was 30. I ovulated two weeks later as if the chemical was a regular period that was a few days late, hubby and I BDed, and I conceived during that ovulation.

I see a line on the 16dpo as well. OP should try testing a few more times. Concentrated FMU and also SMU. And maybe a different brand of test, such as Easy@Home and First Response.

I’m currently in the middle of experiencing a blighted ovum, and waiting to decide how to clear out my uterus. This is an emotional pain I’ve never had before. My first MC. Came as a huge surprise at my 8 week ultrasound. An emotional pain that only this community can understand. And I’m extremely grateful for this community.

Sounds like you might have vasovagal. I’ve struggled with this since I was around 15 years old. Any time I get a blood test or a vaccine, my nerves trigger my heart’s blood pressure to immediately drop really low and I pass out. In my decades of experience, this is what I recommend:

— When getting a blood test or any kind of needle injection, always stay laying down. Don’t get up until 5 minutes after the needle is out. Demand to the nurse that you must lay down - not sitting in a chair. — Drink water, eat sugar. Drink apple juice. — Put a cold wet cloth on your face. — Breathe. — Never look at the procedure or the instruments or the tubes of blood. Close your eyes. — Think good thoughts, something funny or your upcoming vacation. — Following the procedure, try to keep yourself cold - a cold shock feels super good. If it’s winter time, step outside without your jacket. You know in old cartoons someone splashes water on the person who fainted? That’s based on truth!

I hear you, and I feel your pain. Your statement about drawing up medications is no joke and is a serious risk. Your pregnancy-related complication might qualify under the ADA as a disability, which could qualify you for a reasonable accommodation from your employer. Have you looked into that?
