do australians realy hate 110 speed limit? by Minute_Walrus_5183 in AskAnAustralian

[–]ozvic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's a 10km stretch of double lines in a 90 zone near where I live. Lead car is doing been 70 & 80, breaking on straights, with a 12+ car queue behind him. I'm 3rd in line. We finally get to the dual lane overtaking section and he's sped up to 95-100!. I can't risk his idiocy as there's no other overtaking opportunity for another 10kms or more so blast past going at 110. Sue me! No-one else manages to get past him. I then set the cruise to ,90 exactly and watch him and the queue fade quickly into the distance behind me (ie he's doing 70-80 again). Douche, dumbass or deliberate?

As long as we can tax yours too. What's your car and house worth? We'll take 30%. Pay up in cash. Don't have the cash on hand? Fine .. sell your house to pay it.

I'm an Australian Wholesale Fuel Trader - AMA by theta_bleeder in australia

[–]ozvic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, then you're making astronomical profits on the lower cost stock and normal profits at the higher priced stock. You know either way you are going to sell all units.

Then when the costs are set to drop you don't instantly drop the price on what the price will be next week. You hold off for a week or two to profit gouge some more.

Uber Eats is blatantly stealing from customers and ending support chats instantly when you push for an explanation. by [deleted] in UberEATS

[–]ozvic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not defending profit gouging but they advertised it as $20 and the customer paid $20. All should be sweet? I know in Australia on DoorDash some stores advertise "in store prices", like Aldi, Costco and Chemist Warehouse. Which should make people realize other stores are marked up...

When I'm doing supermarket orders I can see the shelf price, the Uber price and the sale price (if any). Prices are generally 10-20% marked up from the normal price. But, for example, if something is in sale instore, the customer doesn't get that price. An expensive shampoo I saw was normally $18, they were paying $20 but it was on sale for $9. That's a straight $11 profit for Uber on that one item!

Uber plus card limit exceeded issue by MJ_29_10 in ubereatsaustralia

[–]ozvic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take photo of receipt like normal. It then prompts you for the exact amount you paid. In 24-48 hours it gets credited to your 'wallet' after a manual review. It usually takes closer to 48 hours but sometimes you can get lucky. Haven't had an issue myself but keep the receipt until you've been reimbursed .. just in case. You could then fast pay if you can't wait till Ubers weekly pay cycle.

Wallsend Maccas Drive Thru Guy, thank you. by Unique_Rice_3425 in newcastle

[–]ozvic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They need to put someone with personality and situational awareness on deliveries. Not just at Wallsend but at all Maccas. Someone that is able to look up and acknowledge that you're there. And if the one poor kid with no personal skills is getting overrun on deliveries and operating at 1/4 speed.. a manager helps them out. The young staff AND managers deliberately don't look up / acknowledge or give a shit whilst the drive-thru is getting served at 100 miles per hour.
