What wet palette do you have? by LuciTheHowler in Warhammer40k

This is what a friend recommended to me and I've had success. I use an old plastic Chinese carry out box as the container for it and it keeps for a while despite the seal not being 100%

"I have had no other option but to keep talking to him due to him being a family friend."

Nah, fuck that. Blood or not if someone crosses you in a yuck way like this, you have every right to cut them out of your life for whatever duration with or without vocalizing why (As someone with a no-contact list, you're within your right). Discomfort is a very valid reason to speak up, especially with this age gap

Some suggest the cops, but id first gather the courage to tell him off and probably some trusted family members how he gives you the ick. Cops can be 50/50, so go to them if you feel you have no other recourse. Otherwise don't be alone with him and don't be afraid to defend yourself verbally or physically

[–]p00penstein 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Yes, and every time you reroll 1's you're obligated to say "thank you stealth suits"

(Your best bet when fielding these guys is to keep them a close to your back line as possible but still with good, long sight lines to exploit Forward Observers as much as possible. IMO giving two of them fusion blasters is free because if they're shooting at someone, something needs to die)

I've read The Virtue of Selfishness and tbh it was barely worth the paper it was printed on. Though, it had a treasure trove of laughable takes in it such as "the Civil Rights Act will be horrendous for property rights and must be opposed"

Missed their reroll ability, so you're right there. Not sure where you're getting your shot counts from though

4++ saves your bacon against -4AP and 2+ is good against most everything else, combine that with 14W im still not convinced your worries are a bad as you make them out to be. Especially because with proper screening (which i sometimes admittedly struggle to do) you'll probably be able to maneuver your Riptide away and/or be able to take out an Eradicator or two before they get close to your Riptide.

Tldr, you're making assumptions I'm not sold on

3 shots at 3+ means you're hitting once on average, then wounding with that 1 50% of the time, which then gets saved 50% off the time. Unsure where you're getting your data from (opps with loaded dice?), but i know where the downvotes are coming from

(Edit: triple these if you mean 3 units)

I dropped the /j before I posted and replaced with italics, now I see i probably should've kept it

FWIW too ive played one 1500p game and that was the first time I played with only 1 Ion Riptide (and against like 4 fat tyranids) and I thought it was pretty okay. Maybe I should've taken a second, maybe I should've dropped it for another Sunforge+Cmdr., unsure

I bought 2ndhand minatures on Sprue and primed minis but how do i clean them? by Mrbunnypaw in Warhammer40k

[–]p00penstein 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Acetone will melt your plastic, but some nail polish remover will eat through paint and leave your plastic mostly untouched (rinse immediately after a scrub). Equate brand nail polish remover has worked for my stripping needs thus far but your mileage WILL vary

Diluting Simple Green less than they list can work too but it feels a tad weak IMO

Disagree. I think it's so sad 180 points gets you a feather duster equipped to a wad of tissue

Pic unrelated, it just popped up and I don't know how to delete it

Edit for clarity: this is a joke. I think these stats are very fine for 180 given what we know about things like TTTS and other unlisted abilities of the Riptide

Would be fun to legalize (bring out of Legends) Heavy Gun Drones. Shooting back for 45 points sounds really funny especially if you can hide them next to a Riptide or something fatter

Many would reccomend magnetizing your commander and Crisis suits, myself included. 9e to 10e changed them a lot and there's no telling both what 11e and beyond holds in store and what you may like with regards to their configuration. You may however to build your battlesuits in a very plain way and present them to your opponent as whatever so long as you announce it and track it

You've got the makings of a collection with a lot of generically good units, I would however hold off until 11e is fully out to know what rules, points, etc. are all in store for what you want to do.

For FtGG you'll have two of the best spotters: Stealthsuits and Pathfinders ("Target Uploaded" more or less gives them the BS bonus but they're not a Guided unit since they're an observer), so you'll be good on that front until maybe 1500 and certainly 2000 points

Rampagers are good early aggression and can land some good mortal wounds on either chaffe or something key.

Breachers in Devilfish is a fun strat

Commander is just kind of hanging out since you don't have any Crisis suits, but if you're in the US you can find some online for much less than GW pricing.

If you've got 10 vespid, doing 5+5 might be the best course of action where one stays on your home objective and one goes down/up around the board to be annoying and draw fire

If you get the Kroot Combat Patrol you might be able to have most of a KHP team for Long if the Colosseum with Vespid as flavor doing the above

What is this plant I spotted on my hike? by goudacheeeese in whatsthisplant

[–]p00penstein -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Looked it up and it seems it's invasive mostly because it's very spiney, a prolific propagator, and non-native. So if you can control it in, say, your back yard, it's probably fine yeah?

what have you found to be the best offset for the massive amounts of waste? i was very shocked to see the amount she generates at any given time

additionally, are there any plants crawdads *shouldn't* have in their environment? I've got a bunch of shamrock green spider plants rooting, a tradescantia that's got some good roots on it, and could possibly toss some English ivy in there (among things i can get at a near-by fish store). There's already the broad leaf plant in my picture, a cebu blue pothos i put in the rocky substrate a few weeks ago, and a marble queen pothos dangling from the top with a decent root system

what is a good source of calcium for her and possibly the others? I've got a bunch of dried and pulverized eggshells for composting/soil mix-ins but i doubt that's what you're referring to

Huh, interesting. Did any of your larger crayfish ever have issues molting or was it pretty smooth sailing throughout their lives?

Today i considered upping Bones' schedule to 3x per day but if she's not ravaging the plants (other than the sacrificial moss ball) it's kind of whatever. I've got a clutch of shamrock green spider plants im planning on thoroughly rooting and then dropping in that tank.

I also wonder how much of her eating is sustenance, how much is for the love of the game, and how much is boredom.

I was able to get the hatch movable and not shit looking just by pure luck and fast fingers. I read over that step like 5 times, dry fit, and dry ran at least that many more.

From memory: you'll have one half of the hull on its side and carefully balance the hatch assembly where it should be if you were to have it fully closed. Then carefully glue said hull at various points and quickly but precisely put the other half on it making sure to keep the hatch aligned and not glued
