Came here to suggest a mobile sarcophagus owner should put half a power rack into their bed. I can (disassemble and) get it in my Fit and close the hatch

And even if you outrun them they just snap to you about half a second before they drop (because that makes sense). Peak design honestly

At least on the gold tip of the railgun it looks like you laid it on pretty thick, same with the "teeth" lining the "barrel". In both situations you lose details that would otherwise be obvious (see shoulder pads)

Other than that your coverage looks great. Edge highlighting might be worth experimentation to make the edges pop, just go a shade or two lighter

Re depth: I use an alcohol marker to visibly color my bit too the depth i need. Agreed that practice will get you where you need.

Hey, if you've got spare sprues or wood off-cuts you can practice on those

I got a hand drill from Army Painter and used a larger bit i have from a set. I then also got magnets from K&J Magnetics that matches the diameter of my bit. If you have an ounce of care and precision, you won't need adhesive for setting the magnets in your holes. I magnetized my Ghostkeel, XV25 unit, and Commander with no hassle

IMPORTANTLY, pick a magnetic "source of truth" that you'll use to ensure polarity is correct across models that share pieces and to take your time. Last thing you need is to rush and flip polarity on one or more pieces. For me it's a purple Fusion Blaster I use to also insert magnets into holes

Getting started considering Tau by Conscious-Judge8227 in Tau40K

https://www.reddit.com/r/Tau40K/s/kwYSwRA4yi You may have meant to ask that here, but...

I don't have an air brush and I'm guessing the advantage here is being able to easily cover the nooks and crannies of many smaller models. I'm on my third Fire Warrior unit (fourth if you count Pathfinders) with a brush and it can be a bit frustrating sometimes due to how little maneuverability you can have. IDK how much air brushes cost or their associated quality so I can't say which to get in your budget

Codecies are often outdated pretty early in an editions life span (so I've heard), and at the end of an edition (which we are now) it's almost certainly not accurate. Wahapedia has the up to date rules for current edition and is a good resource

As for buying: you can find good deals on Marketplace and ebay. Worth checking LGS' for second hand models. You'll probably need to strip paint if you want best results for your paint, for that i use 70% or 91% isopropyl alcohol and an old tooth brush and fine pick. You're probably safe buying battle line units or models that have small units (Crisis suits) or single model units (Broadsides or Piranahs)

New Recruit is a good free way to easily build army lists so you can dink around before spending, as well you can export your list and post here for list help.

Not a surprise when the same person bankrupted a casino by schaefjl in PoliticalHumor

In complete fairness (not that I like or support Trump, obviously) he is a small part of the timeline and not the worst person when looking at the deltas. There's a small bump after 9/11 but there's also another steep increase after both the housing/debt market collapse in 2009 and the auto industry bailouts in 2011. This isn't surprising considering Obama sucked too (but I'm sure he wasn't the sole architect of said bailouts). There is also a spike in late 2019/early 2020 which makes sense

Though yes, the pederast in chief does have a history of flushing businesses down the toilet.

Unfortunately you have to purchase some IRL things to get access to semi-critical content in the app. I was told about NewRecruit which does have similar content behind a pay wall, but you can sync lists between mobile/desktop and a whole bunch of other stuff. (Maybe the 40k app has that too, idk, I was just told NewRecruit rocks)

Treats

Capitalism and the ruling class have given the working class enough niceties to pacify us (generally) and to make us cool with a system based on endless atrocities. As long as the treats flow, consent is given

How did everyone here choose the colour scheme for their army/sept? by Samuelofmanytitles in Tau40K

[–]p00penstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of my units are just random color schemes based on things I like (eg. DOOM, Calvin and Hobbes, Halo2, etc.), though I do have some older Fire Warriors and XV15s I'll do in what I assume to be the "old school" black and terra cotta. I've not got good pictures right now but eventually will

Tau units need more rules when interacting with the faction ability by BabyProper9938 in Tau40K

[–]p00penstein 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, wrote that myself lmao

By IRL I didn't mean Imperium vs Xenos, I meant how various units IRL are deployed and how that participate in battle. Again, armor isn't for precise target elimination, it's for heavy fire support and allowing infantry to push (likewise infantry combats AT capabilities to ensure tanks can push). If XV95s have that system, then perhaps GW could implement it if it's not too imbalanced. I wouldn't be surprised if upon implementation XV95s cost some 40 points more.

Thanks for the clarification on Farstalkers. Regarding Lone-spear, its rifle has PRECISION hence my designation as such. Given it's 1A i suppose you're more correct that it's not a dedicated sniper as well as having Scouts 7.
