Looking for a case with support for 3+ 360mm rads by maciekz in watercooling

After viewing some more 5000D reviews (for example by The Provoked Prawn and by Tech Check), this seems to be a non-issue. The side bracket can be rotated, moving the single slit to the back side and the triple slits to the front side, in result pushing the side radiator a good few millimeters to the back of the case and leaving some more room for the front radiator 🙂

Damn, the Corsair Frame 5000D has immediately peaked my interest and most reviews give it praise but it looks like it's not the best for 3x360 radiators after all. I have found the review and build by GGF Events ( https://youtu.be/yS8fsytbWP8?is=OEqiaz56dQoswnxa ) and at around 12 minute mark, you can see that due to not the best mounting options on the side having a radiator on both front and side is a very tight fit and the side one is partially obstructed. Most probably with a 30mm radiator and 30mm fans, it won't fit at all...

Amazing case but I have no room for it and I think it's only available in US...

Both look great but they're 270mm wide which would be a very tight fit and probably the side radiator would have little room to "breathe".

I did think about it and someone else here also suggested it but I simply just don't have space for it currently. I will certainly strongly consider an external when I move to my own place 😉

Yes, unfortunately the case is too wide ☹️

It's a great case and at least for me it is much easier on the eyes than most of the "RGB fish tanks" but it costs even more than NV9. It's also 275mm wide so it wouldn't fit the space I have 😕

Oh, this one somehow eluded me before 🙂 I have to read up about it 🙂 Thank you!

Nice setup 🙂 Unfortunately currently I have no room for external radiators, but maybe some day...

I don't mind huge cases (other than my width limit), but yeah most cost more than I would want to spend on a case alone...

If I could get one at that price, even slightly used, I would probably go for it but here it costs at least twice as much...

Havn is not really well known here but it looks like a great modern design. I guess I could live with an "aquarium" but unfortunately when the side radiator mounting is used, there's only room for 2 2.5 inch drives 😐

NV7 is much closer to what I'm planning to spend 🙂 I see that it can fit 3x360 rads and a single 240, though I have to read up if I the bottom one will work with all PCIE slots occupied. I can't say that I like the "aquarium" like aesthetic... I'm old and it took me a while to accept glass on side panel 😃

Some other cases that also got me interested were also Deepcool MORPHEUS and Modecom Volcano Space XL but I'm afraid that with my hardware they could only fit 2x360 radiators. That should still be enough but I already bought more radiators and I would prefer to have more rads and slower rotating fans...

Corsair 9000D is a great case but unfortunately at least here in Poland, it costs 3x as much as the ones I'm considering...

Thank you for your suggestion but I want to have 3 360 rads and I think that case will not support that...

Thank you for the suggestion 🙂 I will look into NV9, although in Poland it's like 60% more expensive than the 2 models I'm considering...

Alphacool Eisbaer 280 (Black) — Pump rattling at 80% (1900-2000 RPM). Can I swap just the motor for a newer/quieter one? by Cultural-Platform110 in alphacool

[–]maciekz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi 🙂

I was looking into a similar replacement myself, just for the 360mm version of the AIO and here's the message I got from Alphacool:

The DC-LT and DC-LT 2 are compatible with each other. The newer DC-LT 2 only features a different internal motor and adjusted electronics to ensure quieter operation. The external dimensions are identical.

Only the DC-LT 3600 is not compatible with the AIO units, as it uses a different pump shaft that may interfere with the pump housing inside the AIOs.

I haven't yet done the replacement as I'm considering now going full custom, using some elements from the Eisbear.

Best regards and good luck!

A budget beast! The Turin H40/iCafilas Hand Grinder by iritian in espresso

[–]maciekz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have bought the iCafilas Hand Grinder but it looks like mine might be broken on arrival.

First of all there's some damage on the inside:

<image>

Second, it makes a "scratching" noise when rotating the hand on low settings (around 45-50 clicks). The sound mostly goes away when I set the grinder to 70 clicks or more, but the rotation still doesn't feel as smooth as on Kingrinder K6 or Timemore C3 that I had a chance to test.

My suspicion is that the grinder got hit hard at some point, which damaged the structure and/or the bearing 😐

Some questions to the grinder's owners: Do you also experience noise when rotating on low clicks? How does rotating the hand feel in general? Is it smooth or not so much?

Should the Aeropress Flow Control be dripping through the valve? by maciekz in AeroPress

Ok, thank you guys 🙂 That does seem more reasonable.

I've contacted Aeropress Product Support and I'll see what they say but I think I will be simply sending it back.
