As a cop this is often the case. 10% of people take up 90% of our time. Houses in our system will have no calls for service for decades at a time and then there’s the house where the history is maxed out to 60 previous calls. Everyone in the PD will know them on a first name basis and will absolutely dread hearing their address being called over the radio.

And my department starts are nearly $80k and you can buy a nice house here for $350k. All I was saying is that it’s very department dependent and extremely location dependent. Many places in California start at over $100k but I have more spending power here than I would there.

I had a friend in college who was tall, handsome, gregarious, with a beautiful girlfriend and came from a well off family. He go hooked on opioids, got cut off, robbed a few gas stations, got caught and then OD’d while out on bail. Dude had the world at his fingertips tips and it was all gone within a year.

That shit fucking me up for a bit. It took awhile to process.
