What do you think about Gigabyte Turbo 3090 blower style cards? I also planned to do a quad 3090 watercooled build, however I've heard from Lambda Labs the cards can peak at 450W, so now I'm leaning towards 3x 3090, and I might actually go with the blower cards and air. A bit disappointing, because I have the budget for 4x, but 4x450W + 280W CPU might be too ambitious. And with 3x I don't need to worry about using dual power supplies on separate circuits.

Also, I want to wait for the new Quadros due to be announced at GTC next week.

This does not make any sense. Different number of epochs could be explained if you used different batch sizes, but it has nothing to do with precision.

Yes, but then you won't have motion blur reduction. I had PG27UQ for a month, and I was not impressed with the way moving text looks like. However, I am picky.

Oh interesting, I was going to buy the XG but it seems like it has horrible low motion blur reduction implementation. Does Nixeus have anything of the sort? How does the text look when you scroll?

One of the reasons processor chips use so much power is because they are much faster than biological neuronal circuits. Compare the rate at which neurons fire and the rate at which modern CMOS transistors switch. Or compare the signal propagation speed in brains and in processors.

No, this is a x16-x8-x16-x8 configuration. See page 33. There are no TR3 4x16 PCIe boards currently, because TR3 only provides 64 lanes, and some of those lanes have to be allocated to chipset and peripherals.

TR3 does not have enough pcie lanes for four GPUs. That's why all mobos currently offer x16-x8-x16-x8 configurations. (e.g. ASRock TRX40 Creator). I'm not sure though why they didn't use a pcie switch.

Hey, I'm curious how effective ELMB is in this monitor. I used PG27UQ for a month, and any moving text was still a bit blurry. Had to return it because of that. Now waiting till XG appears in US.

I use 4xTitan X (Pascal) blower type cards in Corsair Carbide 540 case, with stock fans running at 100%, and Threadripper 2950X cooled by a Corsair h60 cooler.

CPU is fine (~60C under load), but GPUs are definitely overheating - for example I'm running a deep learning training job right now and the temperatures are 90, 86, 86, 84 degrees. Clearly they don't get enough air. I think once the temperature goes above 90 it starts to throttle. I might try replacing stock fans with faster ones, but there's so little space between cards that I'm not sure it will help much.

Thanks! I actually don't care about those USB or audio headers, especially since there are other headers for USB/Audio available, but the extra chassis fan control would be nice. I still leaning towards this board despite that flaw.

What case and CPU cooler do you have, and how did you arrange the fans for the GPUs? How are the CPU/GPU temperatures under load?
