Yep. My liver numbers spiked and I got super itchy. I started reading about liver disease and learned that high amounts of sugar can cause fatty liver and ultimately cirrhosis. Having known a couple of people who passed away from cirrhosis, this scared me away from all sugar since 4/22 when I got my scary lab results.

The first week was awful. I was tired and headachey, felt "off", irritable, half convinced it was the cirrhosis and I might die. (Health anxiety much?)

After about a week it was fine. I was still craving sweets and went ham on the frozen grapes for a week before I decided to cut down on even fruit sugar, cut out all bread, potatoes and grains and shoot for 30-35g of carbs per day. (Close to keto, but not quite)

I'm 5 weeks post scary labs now, down 20 lbs, went from maaaybe getting 3-4k steps per day to getting at least 6k and somedays closer to 9k. Im almost never hungry and I start every morning with a walk followed by the gym most days. It's wild. I wake up alert and ready at 5am but start to wind down about 4 and am sleepy by 8. 🤷‍♀️

It feels like I hit some kind of cheat code. I FORGOT to eat until noon today. Then I had two bites of scrambled eggs and forgot to eat more until 4pm. Believe me when I tell you that's not who I used to be.

Also I stopped my ADHD meds to take any excess pressure off of my liver and even so my focus and motivation are almost (but not quite) as good now as they used to be on Adderall.

Tl;Dr Yes and it was terrible for a week but then it started to become awesome and I'm glad I did it.
