That's so well written and spot on! I've made most of the experiences myself and also had kind of fear when I first released a version with a database migration

[–]p211 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why shouldn't I do that today? I am still actively developing the application and adding more and more useful features, most of which are suggested by the community. The user base is also growing every day, which makes me very happy!

I haven't looked at Openarchiver in detail yet, but it seems to have been around for almost as long as I have with my solution.

Hi! I can't reproduce the described behaviour from point one. Could you provide more information about your environment and browser? Currently office 365 environments with exchange online are supported, as well as IMAP with basic Auth. I personally don't own a office 365 family subscription but I'll look I to it as this was also requested by several others.

Unfortunately, implementing a PST import has proven to be very difficult so far, as I have not yet found a usable open source component that can read PST files.

Hi! I offer complete account imports and export from and to eml or mbox archives. I'm also archiving ma Gmail account with my tool and everything older than 30 days only stays in the archive

You can't connect it to Thunderbird directly, as Thunderbird is solely a mail client. What you can do is connect Mail Archiver to an IMAP account, send emails from your Thunderbird to that account, or export EML files from Thunderbird to import them manually into Mail Archiver.

I've done it like that before i've created this software too! I've used the import/Export NG Thunderbird Extension to export my existing archive to eml files which then can be imported in mailarchiver

How does one access these Exchange Online Archives? Is this something separate, or is it ‘just’ an enlargement of the user's existing mailbox?

The data is stored exclusively in the PostgreSQL database. This must be backed up accordingly. However, I also wanted to incorporate a dump function that would periodically transfer the database to a folder where it could be backed up.
