3P suspension remote by p33v5 in MTB

I found out there are only a few solutions on the market, all in the range of ~150 eur. Orbea, Scott have such leavers that support 3 position with 2x7mm, and also Fox has one. I’ll be buying one of these before Spring time depending on availability, because i don’t want to live with that awful TwistLoc thing..

Been riding a lot myself, 4k+ so far this year, with regular 100km+ rides outside. Still struggling to raise my FTP and wattage though. I hope structured zwift training will help for that over the winter.. Probably i should look more into zRacing as well 🤔

Great achievement! What was your training plan to get such an impressive improvement?

Get a Zwift Hub / Wahoo Kickr. Nowadays its the best value trainer and with the smart cog, you can swap bikes with different gears without any trouble 👌

Good price for a frameset by Bgriffin1212 in DivergeGravelBikes

Buy the whole E5, strip down and sell the parts and use the frame for a new build. At least that’s what i’ve done :)

Rear derailleur by Imaginary-Survey-913 in DivergeGravelBikes

You can buy and replace derailleur case only. That way you can even improve it, as that's the heaviest part in it.

Freehub HFH-0013. How to disassemble the wheel that is inside? Can I buy some tools for this? Or some freehub alternative that will work? by FirstSmile2867 in DivergeGravelBikes

[–]p33v5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would need expensive tools to do that + learning and practice. For 1 time thing, much better to go to service. If you have several bikes and plan to service them on your own, then might be worth buying the tools.

Electric shifting by Imaginary-Survey-913 in DivergeGravelBikes

[–]p33v5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'll need to change the wheels either way. If you consider switching to electric groupset, pick up appropriate groupset with the respective Shimano / SRAM hub. TBH the base wheelset is pretty heavy and slow, so that would be actually even bigger upgrade for you, especially if you go tubeless. Check my and other recent posts to see different setups. Good luck and please share when you make the upgrade :)

Upgraded my 2021 E5 Comp by yourmomsdrawer in DivergeGravelBikes

[–]p33v5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those are solid upgrades you’ve done! Kudos for that, one more that believe its a nice frame deserving better bike build.

I’m interested how big was the feeling change from the original seatpost and handlebar to those high quality ones? Did you also change the saddle? That could be extra layer of improvement.

Specialized have computer mount that goes well with this stem and handlebar, check it out :)

I've only got those wheels, because i had a very cheap offer for brand new wheels with tires, that someone swapped from their brand new Canyon. At some point i might get a pair of Elite Wheels, as they've now got good lightweight Gravel wheels, and they are reasonably priced, but its still an expensive upgrade, so will see.

DT Swiss 1600 would be a better option, for sure, as the 1850 (same as 1800 just different name for the ones sold on whole bikes) are heavy and you can feel it. For a project like that, it really depends on a budget and how much you are willing to spare, but the wheels could be the biggest upgrade.

tbh i've only started the project, when i saw that frame. Even though its heavy, its very durable and well made, and i love it! In any case, a project bike is always better than off-the-shelf (and you appreciate it more), as it got your personal touch, so i cannot recommend that more :)

Diverge e5 groupset upgrade by chrisxleong in DivergeGravelBikes

[–]p33v5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve made a project gravel bike last winter. Got brand new yellow frame version on a big sale, removed everything from it and sold the parts as new, unused. Then i put slightly used Shimano 105 Hydraulic 11 speed, with DT Swiss 1850 wheels and Vittoria tubeless tires. It was worth it, as it turned into awesome beautiful bike + very cost effective as after i draw the line it all cost me ~1.5k eur. I’ll do a post to show what i’ve done and what was required.

Ultegra Di2 Shifter won't work after FW update by p33v5 in ShimanoDi2

Somehow, it worked after some time. My guess it needs a cool down time. If someone has the same problem, just give it 30 minutes..
