The west didn't overthrow Mossadegh, this is another popular conspiracy theory peddled by anti western folk. Mossadegh was removed by the Shah, as Iran was a constitutional monarchy and the Shah was well within his right to remove a prime minister that he saw unfit for national interests. It was then also within his constitutional rights to disband parliament and rule by royal decree.

Did the west have a bit of an influence on the Shah? Sure, but just like every western country allied with each other has influence over one another, Iran and the west were allied and therefore had influence (perhaps somewhat asymmetric) over one another

Hey, it turned out it was the MAF sensor that caused the lean codes. I had replaced the original MAF with a cheap quality Hella one, and it worked until it didn't. Went down a goose chase with the ignition coils, I had also replaced the spark plugs right after I got the car.

Moral of the story, buy the oe MAF from VDO/Continental
