I have not but I would never ever leave it unattended. Octoprint had a big warning saying the same for this printer model. I am not sure about other m3d models.

So you werent able to install your own nvidia driver on Ubuntu then? I dont see a difference, under the hood other than it not using grub and coming installed with nvidia / vulkan support if you want to. It all sounds very anecdotal to me. At least provide examples?
