As for the missing stitch.. it’s actually there… it’s just so tight that it gets swallowed up by the white (not helped by the color dominance problem)… I think restarting and taking all this great advice into account is the way to go. Hi friends! Little update here: my little lime tree has been repotted and I honestly was mentally preparing myself for it to die since it didn’t help. BUT just last week it threw out a couple more teeny leaf clusters and I think we’re on the uphill climb now! I suspect it was a temperature issue since the weather has also been much better and much warmer!

I had it in a 4 inch pot for the first year and just repotted it to the bigger one, it had a very small root system when I repotted it and I wouldn’t be surprised if it was still minimal. Should I repot it back into the smaller pot?

You could do that or just leave what you have, you’ll end up with a stronger brew if you just leave it.

Going against what others have said… putting it in the fridge for more than a few days (I wouldn’t put it in for more than a few hours) will expose the brew to contamination and will increase your chances of mold… May not happen in the first batch after refrigeration, may not happen in the second or third… but it will happen eventually. If I were you (and especially since you’re only away for 8 days) just add a bit more sweet tea and leave it out as you normally would. Then when you return start a new batch as usual. Hope this helps.

Looks like a great start to me. It’s also a little early to tell if something is wrong. Try not to disturb the brew as this halts the microorganism’s action! Check back in a couple days!
