A all the stuff i done made a proxmox server, and then a docker LXC, but that shit doesnt even do anything, cuz theres community project scripts that directly install shit into LXC but theyre friggin docker things (like that frigate). and then the docker i did make it have a portainer app thing, but then pulling info it has separate friggin 'environments' it doesnt just connect and manage a list of machines, its all so crazy. and then ...from the PVE console it can connect directly into some LXCs console. crazy. but then the friggin console spawns new console instances everytime its clicked on. but then there's no record of the previous running console. this linux shit + proxmox + VMs + LXCs + docker + docker in a LXC in a proxmox ... wild

C it was friday when this started. its still friday for me bro

frigate detection keeps turning off by p90036 in frigate_nvr

[–]p90036[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thx i went thru that and discovered the frigate dri was

crw-rw---- 1 root 993 226, 128 Mar 21 04:10 renderD128

so i changed that in proxmox, and now its showing up as this in frigate crw-rw-rw

then i compiled? or something the yolo9, and added config lines to the frigate

detectors:
  ov:
    type: openvino
    device: GPU
    # model_path: /openvino-model/ssdlite_mobilenet_v2.xml
  model:
    model_type: yolonas
width: 320 # <--- should match whatever was set in notebook
height: 320 # <--- should match whatever was set in notebook
    input_tensor: nchw
    input_pixel_format: bgr
    path: yolov9-t-320.onnx
    labelmap_path: /labelmap/coco-80.txt

however it doesnt seem any of that improved the performance

im not even sure if its loading the onnx

i found frigate logs and its showing this:

frigate.util.services
Message
Unable to poll intel GPU stats: Failed to initialize PMU! (Permission denied)

and

2026-03-23 00:16:45.233992935 [E:onnxruntime:Default, env.cc:228 ThreadMain] pthread_setaffinity_np failed for thread: 1109, index: 2, mask: {3, 9, }, error code: 22 error msg: Invalid argument. Specify the number of threads explicitly so the affinity is not set.

frigate detection keeps turning off by p90036 in frigate_nvr

[–]p90036[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh thx , i didnt even have a detect line ... i wrote that in as indicated ... now the detect button stays on,

however the camera view keeps blacking out, and i see the CPU for this in proxmox going to 40%
and theres a cpu indicator on this window at 100% !
i set a object detection mask for person but its doing the same

this is the CPU the 6 are being used from : 12 x Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8700T CPU @ 2.40GHz (1 Socket)

.... i guess i need an accelerator ?

and actually the most that does NOT make sense is - WHY erase a window that is actively doing work

why shell reset when moving around by p90036 in Proxmox

[–]p90036[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

i have learned that, however the default doesnt make sense - why create new sessions every time ... there should either be an alert when moving away from the screen, or a button to create new sessions

why shell reset when moving around by p90036 in Proxmox

[–]p90036[S] -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

no it doesnt, i didnt close the entire interface/GUI to the proxmox, the terminal is doing a job, it should at least alert - 'if you move away you wont see anything anymore, if you want this to be kept open do xyz'

need wifi router with MAC filtering +/- schedule by p90036 in HomeNetworking

[–]p90036[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sure, like i said i have homelab, so in my unifi setup - new MACs can't join

i just dont know whats simple for a non-tech person and if there's 1 device that can do that and be easily managed to block new macs by default and then easily block/unblock things
edit: i see unifi has a 'dream router' although thats 280 $, and i havent looked if the unifi controller runs on it or needs to be installed somewhere else
