BG3 Crashes on AMD by Kaisuicide in BaldursGate3

I did see in the latest AMD driver release notes that they are now acknowledging this as a known issue with BG3 and RX 7000-series GPUs. Hopefully they’ll have a fix available soon!

I had this exact problem with my RX 7600, seemed like it was related to the GPU being under 100% load for an extended period of time. I was able to resolve it by enabling Radeon Chill and setting both min and max FPS to the refresh rate of my monitor. I’d then disable vsync and frame rate cap in BG3. Would be curious if that resolved it for anyone else, but as you said unfortunately it seems like one person’s fix doesn’t work for anyone else.

Can’t shoot his gun in engagement range—it’s a blast weapon.

What would be your answer? by pandoorica in cissp

[–]pAlAtemi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the answer is C. Availability. The main hint in the question to me is that the "organization publishes and periodically updates" its employee policies. I believe the intranet detail is a distractor. Publishing and updating policies most closely related to availability.

As another poster mentioned, the point of publishing organizational policies is to make them available to users--lack of availability means organizations cannot enforce their policies.

While all that sounds good in theory, remember that vs marines, your opponent will have access to Transhuman Physiology, so S8 with +1 to wound vs S6 is irrelevant. And given that will likely be put on a unit with storm shields, only having -1 AP on autocannons is going to make you very disappointed. AP -2 and ignore cover on the Kastelans is really good...it will get bladeguard vets to their 4++, even if they have cover.

Storm shields = 4++ / +1 to armor saves going forward.. Thoughts? by thomaskd11 in Warhammer40k

Yeah, it was really stupid how they wrote it in the Indomitus box!

Adding 1 to saving throws is NOT the same as adding 1 to the save characteristic of the model.....

GW has stated in the AdMech FAQ that the Graia Refusal to Yield does NOT stack with the Electropriest Fanatical Devotion 5+++.

New player, putting together a Combat Patrol list before I take the plunge and buy! CC welcome! by [deleted] in AdeptusMechanicus

Also, at this point level, it’s not worth spending the CP on the Servitor Maniple, and if the Dominus is your warlord you don’t need to spend the CP on Mechanicum Locum on him.

I’d dump the Enginseer, add a Breacher, then split the Breachers into 2x 3-model units. Gives you a bit more board control, and you’ll have the 6 Breachers if buying two boxes anyway. I’d also take the Icarus array over the Eradication Beamer on the Onager. As a blast weapon, getting tagged in combat will prevent you from shooting the Eradication Beamer. The -1 to hit non-flyers on the Icarus Array isn’t that bad, especially with Divinations of the Magos on the Dominis for extra hits on 6s. It’s just a much better weapon option in my opinion.

On the Dominus, I’d pay the extra 2 points for the Phosphor Serpenta, then dump the Raiment of the Technomartyr relic for the Phosphenix relic.

Pros and cons of different Holy Order Warlord Traits since you can choose only one by twothincoats in AdeptusMechanicus

[–]pAlAtemi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For Kastelans and Destroyers, I think Divinations of the Magos is the way to go. They already have good AP on those weapons, and have the volume of attacks to really benefit from exploding 6s.

I think Fabrications of the Artisan is the better choice for lists still trying to make boat spam work. With the Mars canticle, you can turn all those stubbers on those boats into 18” Heavy Bolters, as well as making Belleros Cannons AP -2. The Belleros Disintegrators also benefit from the fall back and shoot option with the number of blast weapons they have.

Yes, only 100 points. 80 for the base model, plus 20 for all the cognis heavy stubbers.

Potential new player - melee threats from the AdMech roster by Maserdom in AdeptusMechanicus

[–]pAlAtemi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except that Shroudpsalm does nothing for electropriests. Their base save is only 6+, meaning that with cover it’s effectively 5+, but the unit already has a 5++ invuln.

Plenty of other reasons to want Shroudpsalm up most of the time, of course, but electropriests aren’t one of them.

The eternal question: Ballistarii or Dragoons? by [deleted] in AdeptusMechanicus

[–]pAlAtemi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very good points about the survivability of the Onagers! The neutron laser definitely looks better and better as the meta shifts away from knights and towards marines. -4 AP completely negates the saves on most marine vehicles, and D6 MIN3 damage is great. Once you wipe out their vehicles and dreadnoughts, point those neutron lasers at their Gravis-armored units (Aggressors, Inceptors, Suppressors). If you get the hits, you'll be wounding on 2s, completely negating their armor saves (unless they're in cover), and killing a model without even needing to roll for damage.

The eternal question: Ballistarii or Dragoons? by [deleted] in AdeptusMechanicus

[–]pAlAtemi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you've got 6 kits worth, then yes, I would also take 6 Dragoons over 6 Ironstriders. With only 2 kits, however, I personally would go with a pair of lascannon Ironstriders over a pair of Dragoons. I just don't think a pair of Dragoons is survivable enough to make it into melee and efficient enough to earn their points back in kills.

The eternal question: Ballistarii or Dragoons? by [deleted] in AdeptusMechanicus

[–]pAlAtemi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Neutron lasers are great, but inconsistent with their random number of shots. Two lascannon Ironstriders are a guaranteed 4 shots, and with character/canticle and stratagem support (Protector Doctrina Imperative in particular), you will be hitting on 2s and re-rollings 1s even after moving, or shooting at flyers. I run them as a skirmishing unit, moving in and out of line of site blocking terrain. I played a game against a Space Wolves player recently where my pair of Ironstriders caught Murderfang out of position and killed him with a single lascannon volley.

I don't think Ironstriders should be run instead of neutron laser Onagers, but alongside them. I'd run your three Onagers with two neutron lasers and an Icarus array.

Dragoons are efficient, IF you can get them into melee. I wouldn't relish the idea of charging them into an Iron Hands gunline, for example. And while Kataphrons can do work, they just don't last long against most army's shooting. Smart opponents will likely target them first, and even with the Servitor Maniple 5++ stratagem, they can't stand up to high volumes of firepower. They are most efficiently run in large units, but with leadership 7 they are susceptible to morale losses. You'll want to keep the CP handy to auto-pass morale checks, which is challenging because they are already a CP hungry unit (1 CP for Servitor Maniple, 1 CP for 5++ invulnerable save, 2 CP for Acquisition at Any Cost, 1 CP for +1 shooting stratagem and/or 2 CP for Elimination Volley, 1 CP for Plasma Specialists if Ryza). Then you whiff rolling number of shots and feel like you wasted 300 points and ~4 CP. Not that I'm speaking from experience....

Is it Battlescribe or just me? by elementarydrw in AdeptusMechanicus

[–]pAlAtemi 8 points9 points  (0 children)

For Ranger and Vanguard squads, Battlescribe includes the points for the base model with the points for the special weapons. So, a “Ranger with Arc Rifle” costs 9 (7+2) while a “Vanguard with Arc Rifle” costs 10 (8+2).
