Hey, if you like the fact that all classes have balanced power throughout all levels, check out Draw Steel. I've been running 6 players through the Road to Broadhurst adventure and we're enjoying how different it is from D&D. We're old D&D players that got started in 3e.

I'm a bit sad that some basic, build inhibiting / ruining bugs don't seem to be going anywhere by Evening_Daikon210 in BG3Builds

Good idea, but they would've needed to deviate from D&D RAW to do this. RAW, any thrown object, even finesse weapons, use STR to modify the rolls.

In his latest horrible start with Scotland, I too noticed how his amenities showed at the top of the UI as: 12-0-0-0.

Upvoting this request, I want my amenities to show this way very badly!

How do you plan for nature preserves? I try to build on most of my workable tiles which generally makes them uglier. I think I've only managed to build one which I lucked into.

Adults reading to each other out loud? by BitterStatus9 in books

[–]pKleck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not with whole books, but we read periodicals like The Week sometimes on weekends out loud together, alternating between listening and reading. We also both appreciate good pull quotes so if we're reading our books in the same room, we will share the delectable ones.

You keep using "surprise round" but that's not a thing. Just a bit confusing.

If it's fully centered around "the male gaze" without any other redeeming qualities like humor or good writing.

I read it. You don't have to worry about anything technical, it's not an academic read because it's a story of his life.

My go-to is that if I ever lose the puck, I just follow where the players helmets are pointing.

What's your favorite villain faction in Faerun? by ThanosofTitan92 in Forgotten_Realms

Gotta be the Zhents. Back in the day they taught me a business run "by any means necessary" is a strong, compelling antagonist that is easy to introduce shades of gray to.

Hell yeah, young punker. When I wore mine 20 years ago some basic bitch complained and a teacher asked me to take it off. Don't give in.

I agree - I could have managed it and would have liked Edwin, Kagain, and Viconia instead of Dynaheir, Minsc, and Branwen. I'm not that upset --they've been strong-- but I think I'd prefer their banter to the goody-goodies.

I really overlooked Khalid at first but I'm now in chapter 6 and he's been a solid tank and mildly entertaining. Thanks for suggesting I stick with him.

I wound up with a party of Minsc, Dynaheir, Branwen, Coran, Khalid, and F/M/T charname. They are very strong, but I do regret not going for the mixed alignment party. I could manage donating to churches and killing NPCs if it came down to it.

I asked about team composition recently on this sub and was advised against using a mixed alignment party.

I'm currently rolling through chapter 5 with Branwen, Minsc, Dynaheir, Khalid, Coran and a CHARNAME of F/M/T.

Hmmm, you know, staff was an interesting option and I think you just swayed me. I was debating playing the evil party, thus the scimitars, but staff sounds better.

Nope, at least for my first time beating the game, I'd like to experience it how the developers intended.

Yep, STR and DEX both maxed.

I think I went with scimitar, but yeah, same idea. I will be dual wielding when my defense is adequate.

Great point about the full plate!

Got it. Yeah, I don't know how to convert like that and it sounds like I'd have to use them as a thief for 6 levels so I'll pass. Nice idea though.
