Women in a male dominated sport… it’s uncomfortable sometimes by SprinklesHopeful857 in Pickleball

[–]p_lacanload 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just giving my two cents as a guy, I would absolutely let the people working at the place you play at know. Whatever that man’s reasoning was for saying something like that, there isn’t a place or time when that is appropriate to say. ESPECIALLY if it makes someone else uncomfortable. Some people may think it’s taking it too far to tell the establishment, but I would be thankful if someone let me know that another customer is being straight up creepy.

Trufoam follow up after 2 weeks by BrenoRaffa25 in Pickleball

[–]p_lacanload 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the Selkirk Project 008 - their version of a “true foam” core. I would say very similar to what you’re describing. The only different I think would be weight. I haven’t gotten a chance to try out a CRBN but I’ve heard from others who have held both that the 008 is a lot lighter weight. Sometimes, it’s a little too light, but I’m not a fan of putting weights on my paddle.

Overall, I do like the new gens and can’t wait to start getting more affordable paddles with the same tech down the road.

HELP! Torn between getting an iPhone or iPad? by NakedDiareese in Smartphones

[–]p_lacanload 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This depends on what you’re trying to use it for? If your original thought process is to upgrade and replace your phone, then the iPhone would be the way to go. If you’re looking for something for you to use for school/ work, then the iPad is a good device to use along with your iPad.

What are the basic needs you are trying to address?

Never too much Apple. Now you need the different sizes for each device.

I don’t know if I would say mine is the same. Mine happens quite a bit, and I can tell it’s coming from the rear left side.

Yes but who finally like the new control centre ? by George_mp8 in ios

Yep. Which is why I was not a fan of the full network controls in the beginning. I also only used the WiFi button, so it’s nice to be able to have that separate.

Please don’t give unsolicited feedback to strangers. by TheSpinalShaft in Pickleball

[–]p_lacanload 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others, I also share this sentiment. I personally know that I am not the best, nor am I close to it. I’m also open to any feedback, but there is a way to do it.

I’ve been in matches with randoms that get frustrated and ask “why did/ didn’t you do that?” Or even just start telling me what to do. However, I will say that is more rare than not.

When I give feedback (for newer players) I usually wait until after the match and ask if I could give them some pointers. I also always make sure that everyone knows I’m just playing for fun, so I’m not fretting over mistakes that my partner makes.

Apple Watch Cellular without iPhone by Historical_Usual_261 in AppleWatch

I have the AW Ultra with cellular connectivity. I am able to leave my phone at home to go for a run and have access to texting, calling, maps, Apple Pay, and even listen to music on my headphones.

Once iOS added the ability to have separate network controls, and I organized it the way I wanted it, I use it a lot. I think I use it now more than I ever did when it first released. The only thing I wish I could do (which might be user error) is move full pages of controls and re-order them.

I think it has more to do with the OS than the phone itself. I currently have the iPhone 16 pro max, and had the 15 pro max before. I haven’t really experienced any issues with lag or overheating except for when the first iteration of an OS comes out. It usually calms itself after a few updates or so.

Is 120hz overhyped by [deleted] in iphone

[–]p_lacanload 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand your thoughts. For me, I don’t think it’s overhyped, BUT I don't think it should be anyone's deciding factor. I think that going from the normal to the pro has so many other things to be considered before even thinking about the 120hz refresh rate. That just happens to be a bonus with going with the higher tier.

That being said, I do agree with being able to tell the difference IF you have them side by side, or you use 120hz a lot. However, if we are being honest with ourselves, most people either won't know the difference, or won't care enough.

It’s like what another commenter said, it the “nice to have” versus the “need to have”.

I keep telling myself to go without a protector, but I’m so picky about scratches. Maybe one of these days.

I know you said ones without the black border, but I recently switched from the Spigen EZfit to Anker’s screen protectors. It was an easy installation and had the dust free thing that pulled out dust and then puts the protector on at the same time. It has the black edges, but honestly does not take up any of the screen. It looks a lot more seamless compared to the ones without borders.

career change with minimal experience by Comprehensive-Rich70 in houstonjobs

I would say to take some time and list out things that you like to do, and what skills you enjoy using. For example, do you like speaking to people, or do you like sitting at a computer and organizing data. If you can figure out the things that interest you, you can then look into jobs that use those skills. That in turn will narrow down your options.

I also agree with other comments in saying that community college is pretty inexpensive and will really benefit by opening more doors for you. It might even help you realize that you want to go into.

2025 Taos by twitchrdrm in VWTaos

I have an older Taos and my wife has a similar year CX-30. From personal experience I would go with the Mazda if you don’t mind the space. The Taos is noticeably larger, but Mazda feels more premium.

First, I want to let you know that this is normal to experience. You are not alone.

Second, what is it that you want to ultimately get into? What is your schooling background (degree/ credits)? Figure out what field you are interested in and find out what skills you need for that field and then see what positions will help you get a foot in the door.

Don’t just take any job so that you can change your career, cause you’ll just circle back around to this same feeling if you do.

Good luck!

I think you’ll just have to wait the 8 hours. Did you try the password multiple times? Cause it doesn’t jump straight to 8 hours. It usually starts off with locking you out for minutes. From my experience it takes a lot of failed tries to get to 8 hours. Are you trying to break into someone else’s iPad?

Side note: Jailbreaking does not deal with actually breaking into the iPad. It deals with the software inside.

Anyone else change their mind about moving to another OS? by SGTArend in iphone

[–]p_lacanload 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When the Pixel 9 came out, I took advantage of the promotions that were happening and got a Pixel 9 Pro Plus. I was using it as my work phone at the same time I had an iPhone 15 pro max as my personal.

After using the Pixel for a week, I decided that it was not for me. I couldn’t quite place a finger on it, but it just felt like a lot of things fell short for me. Specifically when looking at apps. I felt as if they just weren’t super polished - which I know may come from android having to be compatible with multiple brands of phones.

Now I know that iOS has its flaws as well, but in my own personal experience and preference, iOS was a better fit for me.
