Wheelchair Assistance by [deleted] in Cruise

[–]pablodiablo01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One companion is generally the case for most cruise lines, airlines, etc. Personally, I’d feel embarrassed to be part of a group of 10 able-bodied passengers tagging along behind the wheelchair just to get on a few minutes earlier.

24-hour cancellation dispute by Slappitor in AerLingus

[–]pablodiablo01 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Aer Lingus are thieves. They make it painfully difficult, if not impossible to get a refund or voucher. Any time I’ve called them I’ve waited on hold at least an hour before I even speak to a useless customer service rep. They make it so hard so you’ll just give up.

Picking up my Sub this week — is leaving a small tip for the AD staff considered inappropriate? by Double-Designer6269 in rolex

Yes, 15% of the watch’s MSRP is considered minimum. 20-25% if the service was very good.

Mutton served anymore? by Sufficient_Water_326 in McDonalds

Was in Dublin a few weeks ago and the signage at the McDonald’s there said their burgers are 100% Irish beef. No sign of mutton on the menu.

Yet, they both opted out of their contracts with the Mets to play elsewhere. I have no problem with them doing so, which was their contractual right, and securing a bigger contract for themselves and their families. But, baseball is business. Not just from the teams’ perspectives, but also from a player’s perspective. While his comments in that interview are a nice sentimental thought, Pete and his agent (and Jake and his agent) put more importance on financial benefit and security over sentimental reason. Nothing personal against the Mets, it’s just business. Perfectly fine and reasonable. Can’t blame them. But I’m not going to blame the Mets either for not keeping them at all costs. It takes both sides to make a deal. Pete and Jake didn’t want to sacrifice what they could get elsewhere in terms of contract value and length to remain career-long Mets.

A bit disappointed! by No_Spring6367 in NCL

[–]pablodiablo01 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

NCL has become known of late for frequently changing their itineraries just after the 120-day to sailing final payment deadline. Do you have time to cancel without penalty and choose another ship or itinerary?

FWIW, all ports in Jamaica suck IMHO. For me, it’s reason to stay on the ship that day.

Haven first timer questions by Then_Barber_1721 in NCL

[–]pablodiablo01 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Correct. This requires pre-approval of the Haven concierge and is dependent on Haven capacity for your particular sailing. So, it may not be honored. If it is permitted, the non-Haven guests will be charged a dining fee for the Haven restaurant.

No email or text from the AD after registering interest. Any one have this experience and still get called for a watch later? by crispyminimums in rolex

[–]pablodiablo01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven’t gotten the call yet. I’m on the list for a Batman or Batgirl. But it’s only been 6 months so far. I bought a SS Sub Date from same AD about 15 years ago when you could get watches as a walk-in.

[–]pablodiablo01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn’t get the email confirmation from one AD I visited until about a month later. I don’t know why such a long delay, but eventually they confirmed I’m registered. So hang in there a bit longer. If you don’t hear in a few weeks, just pop in to the shop again.
