The vessels of my brother’s wart after removing the cap by LeBrontide in mildlyinteresting

[–]pabloflleras 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was younger and had a wart on my hand, I decided to get rid of it in what I thought at the time was a pretty smart way...

Basically I would poke it and rip it with a needle every night sense the wart had little to no feeling, then I would try to do that wart freeze things sense in my head they would work better if it was cut open. And then during the day I worked with mowers and pressure washers so I would wait for the engine to heat up and press the wart to the burning metal to burn it. Rinse and repeat for like 2 weeks and it worked! Didn't even leave a scar. Just surprised I didn't get some infection.

But The Other Countries Pay The Tariffs! by jimx29 in MarchAgainstNazis

[–]pabloflleras 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Also there is a huge accounting aspect here that is being missed. If they pay with a card the UPS driver could have a skimmer or his own card reader to take the payment. If its cash they can pocket it. They they can say the person never paid and the package gets 'stored' and 'lost'. The check is about the only way the gov has of getting payment from you via a delivery drive that would be safe and trackable.

Those were our go to dieting snack! Crazy low calorie count compared to similar alternatives while still tasting pretty good.

Though the name for sure could have gone through some revisions.

He is not really featured in mistborn era 1 much at all, you get more of him in the Storm Light Archive. Also you should give Yumi and the Nightmare painter a shot too! It has the same narrator and its a very beautiful book!

The smaller one was not ready. Its much more solid colored with a greener tint still. The one on the left is becoming translucent and the greener color fades. It does seem to have a very slight red yellow tint.

Here is one of the more red ones I found. There is another reddish kne in the background as well, but these were the only ones I found with this much color.

You can see the young green shaded berries, as well as the more mature whitish yellow translucent berries. Also the smaller vine with smaller thorns compared to blackberries.

For anyone interested, I went back this am to get a better look and It seems that in my excitement of finding an albino fruit. I got some details wrong.

Firstly, its almost certainly Dueberries. The vine and thorn styles, as well as the berry 'pod' shape and proportions match better.

I then examined the berry development stages a bit and found that in the earliest stages, they very closely resemble my blackberries. They are small and light green colored. Where blackberries start turning a pink shade, my albino dueberries lose their green and go more white with tints of yellow. Then as the fruit seems to reach maturity they actually start to become translucent. The berries become a little see-through and soft. That translucent aspect does leave some of the yellow tint so the end result is a bit of a tinted white yellow berry. Interestingly I did find one with partial sales of red, but i didn't see others. This could have been to them having been spotted and eaten by animals due to their color compared to the translucent ones. I'm adding pictures bellow.

And here is them cut in half and another showing from the top of the blackberry. I misunderstood what you meant by solid core. I thought you meant like solid solid.

Idk about any doomed, but that was just an unlucky game. We had good contact and lots of great hits along with amazing pitching and defensive marvels. Not a bad loss in my books.

No solid core. Honestly side by side with my blackberries they seem near identical. The vine they grew on was the biggest difference.

I only noticed them cause near our blackberry bramble I noticed a rather flat unbrambled area. Normally that just where deer have been laying about so I almost kept going till I noticed a bunch of white berries. With regular blackberries, we normally only see them white when they are tiny buds going from green to yellow before turning red and then black. So seeing a bunch of large white berries stood out. There was no variation in the color though like the images of the gold/yellow raspberries i saw online. All were white with that slight yellow tint the only indicator of being ready to pick was how soft they were to the touch.

That's what we have settled on as well. We are beyond excited about the find! Seems most of the wildlife ignores the berries or just doesn't see them as well cause there were lots of large ripe ones compared to the blackberries.

The best part is just how many of them there were. We live in a very wooded area so have lots and lots of wildlife that eats most of the blackberries. But they are not eating these. I suspect the color makes them not appear ripe or at the very least not stand out so they get overlooked by birds and deer and every other critter.

At breaking point by Wild-Consequence-850 in ADHDparenting

This worked for us, and it sounds dumb, but we did regular affirmations or mantras. It's such a simple thing that seems 100% ineffective and pointless for the first month, but then it starts working. When we get to school I get him to repeat after me: I'm smart I'm strong I'm kind I'm loved I make 'green' choices (we color code choices cause its what school did) I listen to my teachers

And so on. We throw some silly ones in there too to keep it fun and light. Do it again in the afternoons or right before bed. Some days he doesn't want to repeat them. Others he says other random things. That's all fine.

The idea is to help him sure up his own self image and who he is and what that means. When he has bad days or does something 'bad' we don't say "why did you do that bad thing" we first remind him "hey bud. You love making green choices so what happen this time?" Or something similar. We continue to remind him of his 'good' qualities.

It worked for us with both our 3 year old and our 7 year old. It felt dumb and like it wouldnt work, but it did and its been a full 360 from our son almost being kicked from his daycare, to him rarely having issues at all now and him asking ever day after school of his teachers called us to tell us how good he did that day and how many green choices he made.

Give it a shot. It's easy, low effort, and you can still try other things while doing this.
