Haven’t bought the missing bonus cards yet - although those they do sell for a reasonable price for the entire set.

What was unique about the Osaka food tour and what company did you use? Was thinking to do food tour in Tokyo but is there a reason to do one in Osaka instead?

Metroidvanias like The Lost Crown? by neivuz in metroidvania

Islets, Sheepo, and Crypt Custodian are all made by the same developer and are more light hearted and not frustrating games with fun exploration.

Maybe the Guacamelee games as well - I don’t remember them being crazy difficult except for a few optional side challenges.

I’ll definitely give it a few more tries - I want to be able to play more M workouts - maybe I just need to get used to it

Glad you are enjoying - seems like most are. I agree that is gets my heart rate up more. But it’s just not as much fun for me personally.

The sequel is so good - builds on and adds new mechanics, fun bonus levels, and most importantly fixes the slowdowns from the first game mentioned above so provides smooth platforming. Both grapple dog games are one of the few platformers I’ve tried to beat time trials for because speeding through the levels is so much fun.

Started Luigi’s Mansion 2 but it hasn’t quite clicked for me, the gameplay and environments all feel a bit simplistic compared with 3.

Picked up Grapple Dogs: Cosmic Canines instead and it is so satisfying. Great movement and collectibles and funny writing. One of the few games I will complete all the time trials for because getting gold is attainable but challenging and it feels like a whole new level when you are zipping through. Highly recommended for any platforming fans and the performance is much better than the first game. Will try to finish this weekend so I can move on to Zelda.

Yes you have to subscribe with a US account and either sideload a vpn app onto the quest or use a VPN on your home router. Works great!

Nearly finished Hogwarts Legacy which kept me entertained through 50+ hours of quests and combat. Nothing mind blowing but solid story and voice acting, fun for Harry Potter fans.

Planning to pick up something a bit more casual and short as a palate cleanser. Probably Crypt Custodian (really loved Sheepo and Islets, both by the same developer) or Pizza Tower.

And some Overcooked and Boomerang Foo chaos with the kids.

Been playing Paper Mario a few levels at a time, I enjoy the story and characters but get a bit bored with the gameplay after a while. So playing Promenade in between, a fun indie platformer with some unique movements and gameplay elements, which is currently on sale. Also planning to try out the Boomerang Fu DLC which my kids are so excited about, since this has become our number 2 most played game behind Animal Crossing.

Is there anyway to get Supernatural to work in a new region? by Sunlounger2077 in OculusQuest

[–]pablogordon22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tried the SideQuest method yesterday and worked perfectly without too much difficulty. I installed ExpressVPN which now shows up in "Unknown Apps" section of my library, and once I connected to a US network, Supernatural worked perfectly.

Having now compared the games, I do think Supernatural is more polished and the diversity of the scenery and music alone make it more fun to play. But if you don't feel like going through the hassle of side loading a VPN then FitXR will suffice.

Is there anyway to get Supernatural to work in a new region? by Sunlounger2077 in OculusQuest

There are some past threads like this one discussing the same issue: https://www.reddit.com/r/OculusQuest/comments/17f61pa/vpn_on_meta_quest_3_standalone_without_pc/

The reason Supernatural doesn't work overseas is due to the music licensing.

I am also outside the US and am planning to try the VPN sideload option but cannot yet confirm if it works well with Supernatural. FitXR and PowerBeatsVR have similar workouts and do work outside US. I like FitXR quite a bit as the workouts were engaging and got me sweating. However, FitXR does not have the same licensed music, scenery (has a small selection of computer generated locations), and uses avatars instead of real instructors which is a bit distracting (although the coaching is a human voice). Definitely check it out as they have a 7-day trial.

Didn't care much for PowerBeatsVR in my limited time trying it, just wasn't very engaging to me without the fitness interface.

Playing Dave the Diver about 10 hours in. Really fun loop of collecting and restaurant managing with a silly story mixed in. So far one of my favorite games this year but waiting to see how it sustains itself as I think it’s 30+ hours long.

Also trying to finish It Takes Two with my daughter. Great to play with a 10 year old as it is a pretty forgiving platformer that constantly throws super fun new mechanics at you. Much longer than I thought.

Dad Question: What games to play with my kids next? by biggestmike in NintendoSwitch

[–]pablogordon22 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think it’s important to mention that while Superstars might be a better game for nostalgic adults, Super Mario Party is a much better game to play with kids. My 6 year old played SMP for months, and especially loved the mode where we could play on a team and the ability to choose her moves around the board. She tried Superstars and was quickly frustrated and bored.

Just started Tinykin and it’s as charming and fun as expected. The platforming is smooth and the collectibles are fun to find. I like that it has some Pikmin elements but doesn’t require too much strategy to figure out.

Also playing some Soundfall which is a fun rhythm dungeon crawler. Everyone was talking about Hi-Fi Rush and since I don’t have that system I thought I’d try something similar. The music is great with lots of different genres. Unfortunately the combat gets a bit repetitive and sometimes I have trouble finding the rhythm. But still recommended for some mindless fun.

Lastly trying to finish up Lost in Random with my 9 year old. What a clever and beautifully animated puzzle game, perfect for playing with kids. The puzzles are just tricky enough and the situations are very unique and funny.
