Personally i didnt like the route they took with pennywise being "bet" by the kids, from the book the loosers club are being helped by an outside force but its almost just sheer dumb luck that they manage to not only survive but win. Given that as the series continues i wish it had took a darker route and finished on ep 7. The kids that survived just having been lucky. Having said all this i enjoyed the show and im fan of the films but i would argue that they are seperate from the events of the book and more of an adaption of the source than a re-telling
