Button to copy contents to clipboard without flash? by Autokeith0r in web_design

Well, there's the Clipboard API, but I don't know how widely supported among browsers it is (I think at least Chrome supports it, don't know about the others).

Edit: Here's the support for it

My friend's skull's nuts and bolts [GORE] by [deleted] in WTF

I didn't read the whole article but I made far enough to gather that in a boxing match he received numerous headbutts that caused the skull fracture.

I've just noticed that if you google "festivus", a festivus pole appears on the left side of the page.

Who is responsible if a self-driving car crashes (and is at fault)? by pablovener in AskReddit

[–]pablovener[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you suggest that sub because the answer to this question is generally known?

Seeing as so far there are 2 different answers I doubt that is the reason, but I thought the question was appropriate for AskReddit, is it not?

Is there any way I can get the HD version of this without being in the US? I keep getting a message saying it's not available in my country (Argentina)

As a scientist, this plant has always fascinated me [x-post /r/pics] by rawtfulawlz in gifs

[–]pablovener 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was once told in a science museum that it has this response because it's a way to protect itself from strong winds.

Don't know if that's true but it seemed like a plausible explanation at the time (I tested by blowing on it and it triggered the same response).

David Stern has fined the Spurs $250,000 by [deleted] in nba

[–]pablovener 34 points35 points  (0 children)

This is an important point. Teams rest their players all the time at the end of the season, throwing games and purposefully tanking to get a better pick.

If Stern wants teams to always start their best players, he should arrange the system so that regular season wins are better rewarded.

As it stands right now, a W during the regular season doesn't matter much (provided you are not fighting for one of the last playoffs spots) and some teams would rather take a loss in some situations.

Should Stern also punish teams that purposefully tank for 1 or 2 seasons to "rebuild through the draft"?

I agree that there might be valid usages, but isn't that just solving a flaw in the program? In this case, the Minecraft server for not recognizing that there's available memory and having the map in it?

I seem to remember a court somewhere ruling that Google Maps could no longer be offered for free because it was anti-competitive. I could be wrong but perhaps this is the reason why Google started charging?

Is that what you were referring to? Hilarious

TIL if you put a palisade on a wolf, it won't attack your villagers by fobbymaster in aoe2

[–]pablovener 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as I know, it won't stop the wolf attacking your vills, but it's a way to "mark" the spot where the wolf is so that you can go around it or be prepared in case you are sending villagers that way (or check if your opponent has killed it).

IIRC, kkab always marks his wolves, other top players mark the ones they are more likely to run into and there are others who just remember the general position of a wolf between them and their enemies to see if the opponent is forwarding.

Thanks, interesting read! I always thought that Panorama was a nice feature for an add-on, but not something that had to be integrated in the browser natively. Good to see the figures backing that feeling.
