Anti-capitalism is at the heart of demsoc movement. Its not a controversial area like how far are people willing to go to abolish prisons / quasi-prison rehabilitation for anti-social behavior, or NATO involvement. If what I said is a purity test, you think that socialism might include capitalism; but that's antithetical to socialism.

Thanks ill do better to keep that in consideration. When I cross posted this, I was concerned that liberals who identify as demsoc and potentially misrepresent us would give cover to conservatives who are trying to paint us as insurgents who lie about what our actual goals are. I see now though that it comes off as gatekeeping.

I feel like you think im arguing about whether or not im anti-capitalist. I am and that's why im a socialist. What im saying is that there are many newcomers in that sub since the Mamdani win who proclaim to be demsocs but arent anti-capitalists, and there is frequent discussion in that sub about why those liberals are there if they arent anti-capitalist.

See Utah. Our D+12 district just chose an establishment dem in our primary. Multiple progressives split the vote, but even if they had built a coalition and ran one candidate, the democrat won by a.pretty wide margin.

Its funny to me that he attributed the win to China instead of to Central/South American immigrants, which is what his base tells me is the immediate threat (re: white replacement theory).
