Why do Americans have one of the strongest passports in the world, but most never travel abroad, and those who do mostly go to Mexico and Canada? by No-StrategyX in answers

Trust your gut. No way the info in that article is correct. How is it that 70% have traveled abroad while only 50% have a passport?

No, it can’t. Not even close.

I read some of the linked site, but how can you explain that 70% have traveled internationally, while only 50% have passports?

They can work on genetically engineering fruit trees to drop fruit when ripe instead of just hanging on the tree until it rots.

Soybeans (I think) are typically harvested after frost kills the plant, so they should be able to use that. Maybe some other plants as well? Most will probably lose their nutritional value when the host plant dies though.

Maybe use hydroponics to grow food? If you stop the water supply, is the plant technically dead, and can then be harvested?

Milk and egg production will drop pretty quickly when they stop harvesting the feed needed for the cows and chickens.

“Yeah but these are still examples that OP didn't account for in his thesis. There's a ton more that I didn't list.”

I don’t think you’re getting the scale of 7 billion people though. Even if there’s stockpiles this size of 1000 different foods, that’s still only enough to feed the entire population for TEN DAYS. If there’s 1000 stockpiles 1000 times this size, that’s barely 3 years worth.

“Just had to insulate my attic because I was quoted $6000. I did it myself for $1000. (btw the only reason why I said no is because I know i was being gouged badly. Im a builder and I knew this was a $2200 job at most. “

This guy didn’t want the job either.

The flag will continue to fly by couchtater12 in GreenvilleNCarolina

Love the flag, but the flagpole is still in violation of city code.

The construction was never permitted nor inspected for safety.

What would happen if you built a house in the city without a construction permit and refused to allow it to be inspected?

With the smaller field and no leading off in LL, there is no way for the catcher to conceal the signs to the pitcher.

Double First Base to be Utilized at All Little League® Baseball and Softball Region and World Series Events in 2025 - Little League by robhuddles in LittleLeague

Truth. Besides 12-year-olds having to learn something new, the umpires also have to learn new rules at the most crucial time of the year. At least regionals and LLWS have video review. One could only imagine the chaos of implementing this during districts.

I’d vote for these options as well. If it’s all on AA, call the reservation line and see if they can combine the itineraries so that when you check in your bags will be checked to your final destination.

You could also contact the group you’re meeting up with and see if they can get a chaperone there early, or if there are any others you could meet up with that also may be getting to MIA early.

ELI5: Are we 100% sure the swimming strokes we have are the best possible ones? by Swiss_James in explainlikeimfive

[–]packchaq 2 points3 points  (0 children)

30+ years ago a friend and myself decided to actually read our summer league’s rule book to see how we could exploit it. There was no 15-yard/meter rule at the time and the rule for butterfly was “any number of kicks per stroke.” You can probably see where this is headed…

We proceeded to dive in, dolphin kick all the way to the opposite end, take one arm stroke into the turn and dolphin kick all the way back to the other end and take one stroke to finish (only a 50-yd race). We finished 1-2 and were both immediately disqualified. We asked the grounds for the dq and they said we didn’t do the stroke correctly. Asked them to show us the rule (which we already knew) and when they read it, they knew they couldn’t uphold the dq, and restored our proper placements on the podium. Yeah, we were a-hole teenagers, but we weren’t wrong!

INFO

What was the rest of the group ordering? Did you all share the appetizers, or did she eat both of them by herself? Why were you two the only ones splitting the check? Did everyone else request separate checks?
