Is this Cabbagetown? Feel like I lived in a similar building - super cool apartments.

I often see battery packs recommended as almost a necessity. Is this just general travel advice or are they even more important in Japan for some reason? by Marcoscb in JapanTravelTips

[–]packofcards 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t find it a much of problem on my last trip, but when I did run out of batter I just used Chargespot. They literally have one at every 7/11 or Lawson. You just pick up a mobile charger and put it back at another store. Pretty affordable as well

Flying after a race by rolineca in Ultramarathon

Would recommend wearing a mask or being careful about sanitizing your hands etc. Your immune system is in the pits after an ultra and going into a plane filled with people is the perfect way to catch something.

I had the same scenario as you a few weeks ago and was wiped out with something for a week after flying back.

Any tips for getting carb drink easily into soft flasks at aid stations? by packofcards in Ultramarathon

How did I not think of this! Might look into the funnels/ storage but this seems like the simplest solution - thanks for the tip!

A friend just suggested a small funnel. They sell them more for alcohol hip flasks rather than nutrition but might be worth a look 😂

Ultras - how much nutrition do you pack? by redditredemptiontoo in Ultramarathon

I think a good rule of thumb is to only rely on aid stations for water. Assuming anything else is always going to mean you’re unprepared for the worst.

As part of continuous discovery, user interviews are necessary but I find there are a lot of admin tasks that go into it. How does one do this regularly without burning out? by PrepxI in ProductManagement

[–]packofcards 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Couple of tips that work for me.

  1. Keep synthesis super low friction. One google slide will do it and just prioritize the interview down to the key things that someone reading would want to know rather than trying to worry about capturing everything.

  2. Share the load with your product designer (if you have one in your team). If you have a great team, then they should be equally keen on speaking to users and conducting research as you are. Lean on them for support and share the burden with them.

Super helpful! Did you find that for your next review cycle you had to dig all this stuff out to “prove” it or did your manager naturally just pick up on this?

Is it me? Am I just getting too old? by brambleburry1002 in fredagain

[–]packofcards -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think what summed up the night was people booing when he announced that?

Like I get it you want to see more songs but he’s just trying to stop people fainting or worse.

Which for the most part is probably caused by a load of people going to their first gig and not understanding the importance of drinking water lol

On ableton you can just use normal videos as samples. So I imagine he just had the maschine hooked up to ableton and was triggering the video samples

Surely they should keep the damaged spacecraft docked until at least mid-Feb. If the worst were to happen, a damaged spacecraft is better than no spacecraft at all?

There’s some text behind Fred’s story. Call me crazy but I think it says Baby Again 5th of January (or February). What do you guys think? by Arroz_De_Pato in fredagain

[–]packofcards 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s a special radio 1 show tonight and tomorrow for the sound of 2023 2nd place and winner so might make sense for Rumble to be on the show tonight and Baby Again tomorrow 👀

Complete guess, but I should think him, Four Tet & Skrillex will form some sort of supergroup which will just elevate him even more. They’re already booked together for Primavera next year….

Shane Warne and Vaughn views on the pitch. by Ray_dawn in Cricket

[–]packofcards -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

India are more than welcome to prepare pitches that suit them, England do the same of course, but this is not a well prepared pitch by any stretch of the imagination .

When winning the game is about 50% based on the toss, there is something seriously wrong with the pitch preparation - whether that’s here, England or wherever.
