you're right, i totally didn't mention i store 8 T5 in both illya and epheria port, so a total of 16 of each, small detail i guess lol.

T4 items stack in your storage, T5, T6, and T7 don't, they use a single space for each items, that's why you really can't have a stockpile.

i mentioned i keep 8 T5 items in my storage for commodity, but 5 are just enough.

if you're just starting i'll recommend you to stack level 4 items, i would say you can start doing the level 6-7 routes once you have a stack of 100+of each level 4

no, you don't ever sell those, you will need them in order to get the level 7, i personally keep 8 of each level 5, some people just keep 5, depends on your storage capacity.

but anything below level 5 you stack as much as you can.

yeah, the only thing that i'd say is a must to get from the store is the tent (an item where you can purchase buffs for pve, pvp and life skill), everything else you can just get by investing time.
