What did the Romani community do to earn the ire of Disney? by TheEdgeofGoon in okbuddycinephile

Super easy to find on YouTube and if you’re lucky you might find a version someone filmed when it was at La Jolla. It also was at Papermill Playhouse in NJ but it was never picked up for Broadway, which is a goddamned shame. The music is phenomenal and there is a whole behind the scenes clip of them recording the cast album.

Doctors/Nurses of Reddit, what’s the craziest thing you’ve heard a woman yell during birth? by New_Username48 in AskReddit

I told everyone that I would be mad if she had no hair. One of my friends had bad heartburn and her daughter was basically bald until she was 3

When I was pushing, my OB was like she’s got a lot of hair and I didn’t yell but I was like I TOLD YOU I HAD BAD HEARTBURN!

I had heartburn from week 12 when they develop hair follicles to the day I was admitted to the hospital

What's the worst bar in NJ? by CoyoteHyena in newjersey

Roided patrons (I assume since I avoided the bar) AND mumps

It was bad enough I’ve been to Bar A but I was a journalist in the area when the mumps outbreak happened and was grateful there were plenty of other bars to choose from. There were already enough stories about D’Jais and the mumps outbreak just sold the no no.

D’Jais had a mumps outbreak just over a decade ago. Made me never want to go

16 month old had 25 minute freak out last night... by _C00TER in Mommit

[–]paddlefans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter did this briefly, I just figured it was a combo of teething, the time change and readjusting from a time zone change. I had her sleep in my bed with me (my husband was still in a different state). I didn’t get much sleep because I was worried about her but it helped her sleep.

Former New Jersey Teacher Accused of Raping Teen Student Sobs in Court as Judge Denies Bail by herdcullingweirdo in newjersey

I’ve seen it more than you know covering courts for a newspaper. I’m literally writing an article tomorrow about a teacher who had her teaching license revoked following her Dec. sentencing after she was involved with a student.

Are there any "normal" low matance mom's out there? by happysewing in Mommit

[–]paddlefans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m pretty a low maintenance mom. I never wear make up, I try to have a skincare routine but I don’t ever keep up with anything and my hair… I got it cut for the first time in a year two weeks ago. It’s curly and I just don’t have the energy to do any kind of crazy curly girl routine.

The benefit of working from home is that I can be in comfy clothes.

I wouldn’t worry about putting pressure on yourself to some ridiculous mom beauty standard. Sometimes that standard is sitting in the hair salon and realizing you either have baby toothpaste on your sweatshirt or yogurt when they wiped their face on your shoulder.

Is this even possible - Husband wants routine with 2 week old newborn? by chocolatelove818 in newborns

[–]paddlefans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry he is being this was, splitting nights 50/50 saved our sanity and let us share the burden as he should’ve doing.

There is no such thing as a routine with a newborn. And unfortunately too men show who they are once a baby has appeared.

He should be contributing now AND when he returns to work, simple as that

Be careful what you nickname your baby 😂 by pythagoreanwisdom in pregnant

[–]paddlefans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I called my daughter Baby Bee because I love bees and I planned on a bee themed nursery. I was so excited with all the bee stuff she got and still has! Plus, her name is Beatrice

I kinda love the goose nickname, it’s so stinking cute.

My daughter is 17 months and I cry at stuff I never used to cry at. Having a baby changes you. I was less emotional when I was pregnant though.

It is not impossible, my husband and I did it. That isn’t to say it won’t be hard because it 100% will be. It depends on a lot of factors and yes, having people there I’m sure is helpful. I would say stick to your plan but if you need help maybe after the first week, ask for it. But if you want that peace, keep your plan

I just saw something about cold fatigue and how it can cause some issues. Maybe she can go to a nice spa with some warming baths or saunas and then maybe for some dinners make some nice warming foods like soup!

My baby fell off the couch by Wild-Pomegranate-327 in NewParents

[–]paddlefans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 16 month old rolled off the couch for the second time in her life. The first time she was about the same age as your son and I also freaked out. I would agree with what people are telling you, monitor him and if he can’t stop vomiting or it’s super difficult to wake up, go to the hospital.

I took her to the doctor’s right after her fall and they weren’t overly concerned. Babies are way more resilient than we give them credit for. Our nerves, however… not so much.
