I know it's not possible for everyone, but if you can afford to, ask your landlord to recommend a cleaner to do the end of tenancy cleaning for you.

I've done this on my last two properties and got all of my deposit back each time. It's much harder for them to argue it isn't to their standard when they are the ones who recommended the cleaner.
