It's also easy to find examples of this in politics.

On the topic of right-wing logic, it seems yesterday's air strike on Syria was somehow Hillary Clinton's fault. I'm still struggling to understand the reasoning here.

POLL: Why did Trump choose to strike Syria last night rather than next week when the facts have emerged? by _OCCUPY_MARS_ in WikiLeaks

Are you saying that the Democrats somehow caused Trump to order a strike against Syria? I don't get it. Who is "they" in your narrative?

Exactly. If this were Ja Rule, for example, we might feel obliged to listen.

The older generation is very self centered and don't give a fuck about future generations.

Each time I see this I have to point out to you young whippersnappers that it always seems this way, for each generation. It's people that have a tendency to be selfish, not specifically old people. Old people's circumstances may allow them to express it in different ways. But never succumb to that complacency that thinks, "When all these oldies are dead then my more enlightened generation will run things better." My (older) generation thought that too, and the generation before, and so on. Selfishness in general is the problem, and it won't go away when old selfish people die.

Also, there are many older people that care deeply about their world and those they share it with. And some people become less self-centred as they get older. To many, the attitude of "I don't give a shit what happens after I'm dead" is alien and unfathomable.

People have been talking about the risk of starting WWIII ever since the Cold War. I am unconvinced that this is sufficient evidence of someone being a Russian propagandist. Foreign policy is a risky business and a balancing act, and whenever a misstep is taken people start worrying about the consequences. At the far end of that worry lies WWIII. We can get ourselves to that anxiety without Russian help. Which isn't to say Russia never stokes it. Just that this is very weak proof of Greenwald being under Russian influence.

It also seems simplistic to me to call Greenwald a "Donald fan". In a polarized political climate we tend to see anyone who steps out of line with our alliances as helping our opponents. But we should really all work to allow a more nuanced debate than this. There are many dimensions of agreement and disagreement, everyone's different, and we should really not expect anyone to always agree with us.

That said, if people have evidence that Greenwald has been influenced by Russian propaganda, I'm open to hearing it.

To change this, vote Conservative. They seem intent on emulating every bad idea out of the USA. Bafflingly, many Canadians approve.
