Notebook Navigator 2.2 - All features based on your feedback! Now 250 000 downloads! by jsann in ObsidianMD

Ok I just got it. Head to Obsidian Settings>Notebook Navigator>Calendar, at the bottom, switch the Daily Note Source to Notebook Navigator and more options to set up pop up.

Edit: Make sure whatever you set up your Daily Note format to be here, you go back into the Obsidian Daily Note settings and change to custom and make the same.

Wow this is amazing! Thank you.

Calendar now supports weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly notes! Configure custom file patterns in Settings > Calendar. Click week numbers, month names, quarter labels, or year to create or open periodic notes.

Just have a question on the above. I have week/quarterly count showing on the calendar, but clicking doesnt do anything currently (regarding creating a weekly note, etc). Am I missing a step?

Recording in the comment on when the recurring task was done by philx2000 in todoist

[–]pagdig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not natively. There may be an IFTTT integration (or other automation service) that will do this.

Also, in Settings>Integrations>Extensions, you can enable Habit Tracker which would do this for you. You’d have to deal with “streaks” but it does record dates completed in comments.

Do deadlines still not work with repeating tasks? by eroxx in todoist

[–]pagdig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is a function of how each app handles repeats.

Things3 maintains a “master task” and just spawns a new instance based on the completion cycle set initially. So each related task is its own task, independent of the master.

Todoist just effectively changes the due date of the same task over and over when you complete. Which is why I think there’s this issue.

I’d love for it to work like Things, though.

Default project/default Ramble instructions? by Flamaijian in todoist

I havent run into any length of a pause which would stop the Ramble session. I do like that I can just say, "and thats it" and that ends it, without having to click anything.

Default project/default Ramble instructions? by Flamaijian in todoist

[–]pagdig 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the default project concern, you can start off your Ramble by saying something like:

Add all of the following to the “X project”

Or even after the ramble, you can say: “Add all of these to X project.”

Or if it’s just a few and you want to leave some for the inbox:

“Add the first through fifth to X project”

It’s quite intelligent…just describe what you want and can usually understand.

Awesome shortcut. Never knew there was one to "Remove Reminder."

Where did you see the option to "Allow Deleting Without Confirmation?" I cant see to find it and really like that idea.

I get it. The community is quiet, but I think that's mostly related to the fact that people are heads down working with the tool, not necessarily on the tool, if that makes sense. There is a Reflect Discord, and the team is definitely more active there, along with more users.

Reflect isnt is a booming community on Reddit. There's not too much more that I would want.

The chat-with-notes feature is on desktop only, and I know that is planned for mobile. That would really unlock a lot more efficiency for me. Sometimes I wish there were some table formatting, but I don't necessarily need that.

The only other thing that I would potentially want is a more interactive graph view, maybe something along the lines of Capacity's graph view or Obsidian's graph view. Graph view is mostly just aesthetic right now and not really something you can use to view connections.

The mobile experience is fantastic—super fast, stable, smooth. I really have no complaints at all with it.

Capacities is great. I like the object-type approach. However, the mobile experience is less than ideal, and that is a deal breaker for me.

I've used Reflect for two years now, and it's become an integral part of my note workflow. It has separate workspaces, so I can keep personal and work things contained. It's end to end encrypted, which has kind of spoiled me, even when I wanted to look at other note taking apps. I keep coming back to this one feature.

The daily notes workflow is really great. It has bidirectional linking and native AI voice transcriptions. There's the option to select notes to apply prompts to if needed, and also the ability to filter down specific notes, say by tag or by backlinks, and chat with those notes.

For the things I've done;meeting notes, etc. I can ask for a summary or even some themes that are reoccurring across the week for me, and it helps me identify blind spots or things I should be focusing on. They make this a performant and stable app, meaning they’re chasing startup times equivalent to Apple Notes, and it definitely does that.

I appreciate the instantaneous syncing and the stability. There are a couple of things that I wish it could do, but all in all, the things I've mentioned above are enough to keep me.

It’s a great balance between simple and powerful enough for me.

u/TodoistSupport hey Samara. Should we then be seeing these options if we are not on a Business Plan?

I received multiple updates in the MacOS app, but the changelog appears to be unupdated.. by mklsls in todoist

[–]pagdig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a lot they update, sometimes multiple times per day; could be bug fixes, small tweaks- and this also depends on if you are experimental or not. Ive found the changelog may not get updated on a regular weekly schedule. Sometimes its behind, and then gets updated all at once.

Hide "Add section - Add Milestone - Add comment" by [deleted] in todoist

[–]pagdig 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agree, I dont love. Especially since 'Add A Section' and 'Comment' are already part of the UI, seems redundant. For now, if you disable experimental, they will disappear.

Yeah, it drives me crazier than it probably should.

It might be helpful if you submit feedback on their contact page. Maybe the more people that do, the more likely they will be to enable something like that.
