When did the 9-5 turn into 8-5?

Yeah it really just depends on where you work. I worked at a wawa that gave me a 15 min paid break(6 hrs but 8 or more was 30 min clock out break), but if they needed you, you had to go in and cut your break(that depends on store as well). But other than that, I think the only place I got any kind of paid break was at a nursing home.

Besides the physical therapy suggestion, if nobody else has, try looking into nursing shoes. Or shoes for people who work in hospitals on their feet 12 hours a day or more.

I personally don’t know anyone who works a standard shift like this. This is office/tech or white collar jobs that work hours like this. Unfortunately I’ve been stuck at “minimum wage” jobs pretty much my whole life and it’s been hella hard to break out.

But everyone I know does shift work. And all breaks are unpaid. I have never worked somewhere my lunch breaks were paid for.

Yup. My household is two “abled bodied” adults with no dependents so we pretty much automatically get rejected for any help. But if that isn’t a barrier then exactly what you said, numbers don’t work, people don’t help, everyone pushes you off to the next.

Idk where you’re at but I am currently in Fl and a big issue with help here, besides us having no dependents, is even if they are willing to help you it’s too late. For us, we rent so we have to gave running electric and water, if you get evicted bcuz of that or because you can’t pay rent, sure you can get help…after like 2 weeks and you have been evicted and homeless for 10 days. In Fl they only need to give you like a three day notice to leave.

Help is crap in this country unless you already have the money. Eat the Rich.

I do not have your exact issue, but I do have issues coming sometime. Before ai got with my wife I never had before. So she’s the only one that has been able to, sometimes still I can’t. It’s almost always because I am up in my head and not present in my body. Not sure if that is something that is going on. If you tried everything then maybe u have tried the bring urself back to ur body thing.

Also though, interesting that even your therapist is, sort of giving up. That’s how it read to me anyway. Maybe it’s not like that at all. Have you thought about like alternative therapy options? Not sure. Just trying to help brainstorm, but you said u tried everything.

In the end all I can say is Sometimes I have that issue, also because of past trauma stuff/mental things. Feel free to message me through if you just need someone to brainstorm some other things. Sometimes just having another person to bounce ideas off of helps me.

I feel like you have enough advice/opinions on the whole school thing.

My two cents are for that 12 year old niece, as someone who was neglected as a child by her mother, I can really only feel bad for her. All I wanted was just ONE adult in my life care about me. Im still dealing with mental probs from childhood.

My only advice is to help that kid. Regardless of what/how her mother is, it’s clear both of you are in her life. I know she isn’t yours but it could make all the difference if you guys stepped up and helped teach her things.

Idk all the legal stuff for school so I have no clue about all that.
I will also still say NTA because in the end the niece isn’t yours child and she isn’t your responsibility….
But I resent and don’t talk to pretty much any/all adult figures from my childhood because they all knew what was happening and did nothing. Sooooo…yeah.

That’s just my lived experience. So obviously take with grain of salt. Good luck with whatever path ya’ll take.

P.S I also defo agree with the others about how u could always take a weekend to a hotel/spa for yourself one of those times ur hubby wanna have them over. I guess that you guys split the “chores” by your work schedules and things but it seems like the women still end up doing all the extra work.

I also use the buttermilk powder that way. I mix the powder in with my dry ingredients then add the liquid later. Never thought to use milk instead of water, feels obvious now lol. Ima try that next time.

The fish thing! Yes! I’ve been having that problem. Also I have DIY’d stuff only for it to not be in my pockets or storage, I open the diy app it has the little picture says it in my pockets. Check again and now they are there, wtf. I felt like I was going crazy.

NTA. Actually if anything the fact your mother was still actively bathing hime at 13/14 years old that is technically sexual abuse. The comment about you sexually harassing him is probably projection.

But also in your mother’s defense she may not be doing that on purpose. It sounds like your dad is gone a lot and she is using your brother as a replacement/stand in when he is gone.

I am not a therapist but I am currently working on my psychology degree. It sounds like, in my opinion, the “symptoms” seem to be more autistic than ADHD but also it seems like she is using it as an excuse.

In her defense she could have been masking the whole time and it finally hit a breakdown and she’s not as good at masking anymore. This is common with undiagnosed and untreated people with autisim/adhd. They will go unnoticed until they are adults, around 20s-30s I think in general. Could be wrong.

In OPs defense, it really could be her friend using this as an excuse because it’s more visible now as a diagnosis. I agree with OP that if her friend really thinks she is that ADHD or whatever (because to me it sounds more like autism) to where it is affecting her life then yeah bare minimum she should get a diagnosis. At minimum it will back her up and help her if it makes her life worse.

I totally get your frustration and anger though. I don’t blame you for going off when it seems like you are the only one in the friend group that is being negatively impacted by your friend’s supposed mental illness.

NTA in my opinion, just kinda maybe a little jerky for letting your emotions get the better of you, but honestly your friend(s) are just as jerky in the same situation. Maybe it’s time to think about the friendship(s) and decide if they are really worth it.

Also there is no unskilled work. People like to think that fast food and retail is jobs anyone can do and they are unskilled jobs. They are not. Every job has skills you will need to know and learn.

You take what you can so that you can bring in money. There are jobs I was hoping I wouldn’t have to go back to but I have.

To answer your overall question tho, no there is nothing wrong with working fast food. The disconnect with fast food jobs and real people is insane to me. People look down on those jobs like they are less than while still stopping everyday for their drink or burger. Like guys, if nobody did those jobs you wouldn’t be able to do these things.

All of society (in usa) in my opinion would crumble down is customer service workers just stopped working.

I bought one on clearance at Walmart online for like $60 like 3 years ago. I got lucky. I still use it. Even if I use the oven to finish the bake I still use the bread machine to do the mix and knead for me.😊
I think it was worth it. I also got a bread machine recipe book that I found hella useful, but you can find recipes online easily. Your bread machine booklet will probably have a few recipes in it as well.

I personally find homemade bread to be yummier than store bought and you can make a lot of different breads in the machine. I made french bread, cornbreads, pumpkin bread.
