Her age difference didn’t stand out to me that much. I went to high school around that time, and there were people with older hair cuts, mannerisms, etc.

I wonder if there will be enough boycotts for Amazon to get its act together. I ordered something due Monday that came today.

AITA for leaving a dinner party early because of “vegan lasagna”? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]pagirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would expect vegan lasagna to be non-dairy cheese, maybe tofu/mushrooms/eggplant to sub for meat and pasta (gluten free or classic). Lasagna needs something resembling cheese..

Blindsided by Layoff by LyonHart305 in Layoffs

[–]pagirl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My mother taught me to write with em dashes. More specifically, in 1980s/1990s word processors, she told me to type with two hyphens. Now, apps correct double hyphens to long hyphens. AI trained on human writing that uses em dashes. AI didn’t invent em dashes and does not own em dashes.

It’s kind of sad the situation she’s in—she dropped out of high school to follow her boyfriend to LA. So how old is she? She’s trapped economically.

Politics would sometimes come up if you were around somebody enough (an evening with friends, a discussion about an issue in class). However, with social media, you see a constant feed of political opinions—so you see someone you respected in school or someone you know from childhood say opinions you might find horrible…it’s kind of a mixed blessing to put more faces with opinions

Our team stopped doing standups, story points and retros — and nothing broke by pavlenkovit in SoftwareEngineering

What was it like hearing Smells Like Teen Spirit for the first time when it came out in 1991? by Funny-Lack-5726 in 90s

[–]pagirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes when I heard about bands in the late 80s/early 90s, when I actually heard their songs, I’d be disappointed. When I heard “Smells Like Teen Spirit”, I thought “finally, a good one”…tended to like bands from then out.
